Still Alice is available on Netflix if anybody is hanging out at home, looking for a good movie to watch. The film was so good. Julianne Moore's acting is amazing!
I forgot the mention I saw the Hunger Games movie last Sunday. Pretty good. I saw the first one and missed the last two and I felt I got caught up pretty quick. I really want to see the dinosaur movie this weekend.
What does everybody else want to see?

I just saw the Amy Winehouse documentary. Really enjoyed it! It wasn't like a lot of documentaries, where they show multiple people sitting there and talking. It was all narrative while they showed clips. The way they took clips of her voice from various conversations to tell the story was really well done and impressive. They had so much film from so many people in her life, it made the story very thorough.

Danish Girl was amazing!!! WOW! The acting, the cinematography, the soundtrack were exceptional. It was neat how it was set in the 1920's. It really gave you a good look at the way people acted and how things were in those times. I have absolutely no negative comments about this movie.

I just saw Star Wars. Pretty good in 3D. Adam Driver was pretty amazing as Ren. I wish the Ewoks were in it. Won't spoil it for anybody.

I finally saw the Danish Girl today. It was so beautifully done. Good recommendation. I have a question. Was the radiation treatment shock treatment? It is so crazy how being transgender was considered a mental illness up until recently. I loved the ending with the scarf. I have always wanted to visit Copenhagen. I went to the 10 am showing here and it was so empty.

Yes, I believe the radiation had to do with fixing her "mental illness" and making her "normal."

Does anyone have any suggestions for movies? preferably drama...foreign or not. I've seen a lot and don't know what else to see, but really want to see a good movie!

I just started watching Adult World on Netflix with Emma Roberts and John Cusack. It seems kind of dark and there are Sylvia Plath references. Another sign we need to read the Bell Jar.

Okay I just saw this movie on Netflix. Really cute and well acted. People, Places and Things.

I saw "Carol" yesterday (starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.) I was surprised at how good it was! I was hesitant because when I saw the trailer, I thought it MIGHT be slightly more on the boring side, yet something about it still sparked my interest. So I took a chance. And I was happy I did!
I'm going to see How To Be Single tonight. Initially, I wasn't so sure, but I started seeing that it's been getting pretty good reviews. We'll see! Sometimes you just need to go to a light, funny, silly movie to unwind.
So "How To Be Single" was pretty good actually! What I really liked about it was from the very beginning, you feel like you know exactly how the whole story pans out...You see the cliches right off the bat. But SURPRISE! There ends up not being cliches where you thought there would be.
I found that Dakota Johnson and Leslie Mann had very good on-screen sisterly chemistry. As for Rebel Wilson, she used to annoy me, but she's really growing on me, I find her quite funny now! The movie was funny, but not as "silly" funny as I expected it to be. I'd rate it 7 on 10.

So I just saw "Like Sunday Like Rain." (Thank you for the recommendation Deborah!) I liked it! It was different! I really enjoy those movies that aren't so mainstream. Debra Messing played stuck-up, egotistical and upper-class well! I thought the story was so cute. Not sure about the kiss at the end though...I could see why they did that, but...inappropriate in my opinion.
Just saw "Miracles From Heaven." So good! So good! SOOO GOOD! I wasn't so sure about this one...I find these kinds of movies hit or miss, but I was glad I didn't miss it! The acting is great, the cinematography, the scene changes. And I cried!! There was a scene in the movie where the daughter is in the hospital and she's in so much pain and Jennifer Garner (her mother) is by her side...I won't give anything away in case anyone sees it, but what a tear-jerker! I love the doctor...He was hilarious! And the little home video of the family at the end was a pleasant surprise. These kinds of movies usually have pictures of the real person or people that the movie is based on, but the live version really gave it a unique and modern spin.
I just watched Cowspiracy last night on Netflix It is a documentary on the environment. A must see. It was interesting how companies didn't want to talk to the producer, Kip Anderson. Greenpeace kept declining and other companies would talk to the producer, but were clueless on certain environmental issues. It takes more gallons of water to produce a cheeseburger than taking a shower. Argh The movie also features Howard Lyman from Vegan Ethics. Here is a blurb from wiki:
Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret is a 2014 documentary film produced and directed by Kip Andersen and Keegan Kuhn. The film explores the impact of animal agriculture on the environment, and investigates the policies of environmental organizations on this issue. Environmental organizations investigated in the film include Greenpeace, Sierra Club, Surfrider Foundation, Rainforest Action Network, and many more.
I also saw Allegiant on Tuesday. A good way to wrap up the trilogy. So this one actor, Miles Teller, reminds me of a young John Cusack. I think he will go places.

Allegiant a wrap up? No. The last movie is next year! Miles Teller is awesome. I've seen a few good movies he was in: Footloose, The Spectacular now and Whiplash. Did you know that all those little scars all over his face are attributed to a near-fatal car accident in 2007? Yup! Interesting guy!

So I saw "Demolition" the other day. I recommend it to everybody because it was a really good movie. It was not a comedy per say, but there were quite a few funny parts and they were really well done! That kid...oh my gosh....That's all I will say! This is one of those unique movies you don't come across very often. One thing I'll say though, is I don't find the title fits...It just makes me think of a violent, action movie (which it was DEFINETLY not) so I think they should have called the movie something else. I rate it 9 on 10!!!
I saw this movie called Hello, My Name is Doris. Sally Field! Of course! So good! The humour was spot-on! It wasn't like that silly, dumb kind of humour that is in a lot of comedies these days. It was really light and well done.
