Ice The first book that made me cry was The Order of the Pheonix as far as I can remember....I was close to tears in prisoner of Azkaban but it was Sirius' death that did it and boy, was I surprised to learn I cry after books..and it would have been an exception until Fred's death.
After there might have been a few instances in a couple of books in between..like something from PJOs'..but the next memorable cry was The Kite Runner..... In The Thousand Splendid Suns....I cried shamelessly in the beginning for Mariam....but after that I dont think I did. I was afraid after forty pages that I might be crying for the entire book..but thank God he eased up after Mariam's tale..at least for a while

Robin I cried buckets over Sarah's Key. It was just such a heart breaker and written so well. The movie was good but the book was just marvelous.

Janelle A Trail of Broken Wings by Sejal Badani was a really powerful, introspective read for me.

Mebarka i cried like a baby reading A thousand splendid suns,a tale of two cities, the book thief, the kite runner,a walk to remember, all the light we cannot see.I just believe that best books are those with a sad ending.

Anya Lee Finishing Kite Runner was a punch on the lungs, hard to breathe. Hassan's kindness killed me.

Rut A thousand splendid suns. I had to stop every now and then. I died to know what was going to happen next, but just could not take one more moment of so much anguish. I love it though.

Also, when I finished "Dombey and Son" by Charles Dickens, I felt something stuck in my throat. I had to cry it out...

Pam Orbiting Jupiter by Gary D. Schmidt is the most recent book to make me cry (and I don't cry that easily!) Schmidt knows how to make you love his characters and "live" their tragedies with them.

All of Khaled Hosseini's books are cry-worthy! 'And The Mountains Echoed' really got to me!

Marie I'll Give You the Sun had me sobbing. Defintely one of my all time favorite books. All the Light We Cannot See is another one which gave tears.
