Susan (jazzescrapper) | 2172 comments I just finished The Siren by Kiera Cass at first I thought I was totally going to DNF my first book ever but I kept going and then I was sucked in. In all fairness, our grandson was born and it was hectic but I had the time in the hospital to get to really read without interruptions and I was hooked and loved every bit of the rest of the book. I still rated it 4 stars and it totally would have gotten 5 if the start of the book wasn't so hard to get into. Again it could have just been me and my mind set which was not on books but babies. This is grandbaby #7 for us :)

Congratulations Susan! That's awesome!

I finished Stars Above (The Lunar Chronicles, #4.5) by Marissa Meyer yesterday and gave it 4 stars. It was a really great book, but as with any collection of stories some are better than others.

message 653: by Trinity (new)

Trinity Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare Reallllllly liked this one! 4 stars. I do have to say that I love TMI a tad more but this series looks really promising. Can't wait to read the next one!

Trinity Made You Up by Francesca Zappia 4 stars, really loved this!

The NarrowsMichael Connelly
I give this book 4.5 stars, not every book is perfect but this book manages to successfully replace Jack with Bosch and had my attention throughout the entire process. There was romance, action, some emotional moments, several moments had me grinning and others groaning in anger.

message 661: by Jessie (Saffity) (new)

Jessie (Saffity) (saffity) Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth 3 stars - I was kind of let down by this book. It has a lot of hype and I found it... meh... not bad, but not amazing.

message 662: by Seema M. (new)

Seema M. Fazil (brotherlyloveisbeautiful) | 1470 comments finished reading Disneyland Hostage (The Tom and Liz Austen Mysteries, #4) by Eric Wilson today. It was great!

Jessie (Saffity) (saffity) I just finished Noughts & Crosses (Noughts & Crosses, #1) by Malorie Blackman 5 stars

I'm not ok right now, does someone have super glue for my heart?

message 666: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (yerawizardamanda) I recently finished Winter by Marissa Meyer. It is the last book in The Lunar Chronicles which was awesome! I'm really gonna miss this set of characters!

message 667: by Jessie (Saffity) (new)

Jessie (Saffity) (saffity) Just finished To All the Boys I've Loved Before (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #1) by Jenny Han , 3 stars

enjoyed it more than I expected

message 668: by Ashlee (new)

Ashlee (LadyFireheart9294) I literally just set down Siege and Storm (The Grisha, #2) by Leigh Bardugo . I greatly enjoyed it and am eager to start the final book in the trilogy. :) at the same time though I also want to read something else and hold off on finishing the trilogy because I'm going to have a major book hangover once I read the final pages. Good thing I've now got 7 new books from the library right?

message 669: by JAKe (new)

JAKe Hatmacher (jakehatmacher) Killing Lincoln. See my review.

message 670: by JAKe (new)

JAKe Hatmacher (jakehatmacher) For video game lovers, I would recommend "Ready Player One." It's not new but it's good and will soon be out as a movie directed by Spielberg.

message 671: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresainohio) Dear Nobody: The True Diary of Mary Rose I read for the non fiction challenge. Diary form of a book that Mary Rose tells us of being an addict and having cystic fiboris. What really bothered me is the epilogue that her mother wrote at the end, it didnt go with the picture she had us seeing about her mother

message 672: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresainohio) Far From You Sophie is an unlucky teeanger. First a car accident that turns her into a drug addict to the murder of her best friend. Normally books that went back and forth on a timeline don't hold my interest. this did and seeing how deep their friendship was is just another layer to the story

message 673: by Jessie (Saffity) (new)

Jessie (Saffity) (saffity) Finished Prodigy (Legend, #2) by Marie Lu this morning, gave it 5 stars because it was really awesome.

I'm a bit nervous about the third book, hoping it doesn't follow a bunch of YA tropes, especially the love triangle stuff that continually shows up in early 2000's books... I do like the fact that it looks like we're seeing 'after the happy ending' in book three.

message 674: by Michael (new)

Michael (michjarv98) | 10 comments I just finished reading The Bad Beginning (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #1) by Lemony Snicket Very nice set up for the next 12 books, trying to read them all for the Netflix series

message 675: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Lau (andreasbookishthoughts) I just finished reading A Monster Calls.

message 676: by Susan (new)

Susan (jazzescrapper) | 2172 comments I just finished Paper Princess (The Royals, #1) by Erin Watt and I actually loved that book. I think what I loved was that it wasn't what I thought the book was going to be about and it was totally different. I love that it wasn't all fairy tales and perfcetion ( a little of a perfect world) I like that most of the characters were filled with problems and each has their own issues and their different awful ways of copeing, all of which were self destructive ways. I loved the romance in this book and I like how it ended. I have to read Broken Prince now to see what happens next. It's my opinion totally on this book but I didn't read it with the highest of expectations because I thought it would be a bit of a Princess Diary type book (I LOVED Princess Diaries too). Anyway I loved this book and hope anyone reading it loves it too. Let me know if you read it how you like it. Even if you hate the book I love talking books with everyone.

message 677: by JAKe (new)

JAKe Hatmacher (jakehatmacher) My most recent read was "Killing Lincoln." There were many interesting things revealed in this book that I had not been aware of. Ironically, there was a picture of a playbill to "Our American Cousin" in it. That was the play that Lincoln was at when he was shot. The ironic thing is that in my second book, " A Secret Lies Deep." which I just released on Smashwords, I speak about that play and Lincoln being shot, although my book is fictional and not an historical novel. "A Secret Lies Deep" is an intriguing story of love, self discovery, a look into the past, and secrets revealed-all with a female main character-a female character that will surprise.

message 678: by JAKe (new)

JAKe Hatmacher (jakehatmacher) By the way, can someone tell me how you get the cover of the book your talking about to show up on your post?

message 679: by Lori-Rose (new)

Lori-Rose | 41 comments I just finish reading the killing cure by James dashner. I give it a 5 stars.
Personally I really enjoyed this book a lot of my friends said the trilogy got disappointing towards the end and not as good as the first. I loved the twist at the end and the maybe happy ending. I loved the characters. I was actually coming home from a road trip with some friends while reading this, and I just couldn't put it down the hole way home.

Can't wait to read the fever code

Jessie (Saffity) (saffity) Mrslabraden wrote: "I had trouble finishing the third one Champion (Legend, #3) by Marie LuChampion. The alternating voices became hard to follow.

Good to know, I'll be prepared. I'm listening to the audiobook, not sure if that will make it easier to follow or harder. I have many other books to read first though. :)

Just finished Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1) by Amie Kaufman 5 stars and the last few chapters just wrenched my heart out. I went through so many emotions in such a short amount of time. I need a bit before I write out my whole review.

message 685: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine I just finished The Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin! It was so interesting. I wanted to learn about gender fluidity, but I found that What We Left Behind by Robin Talley wasn't the best way to learn about it.

Gulshan Naqvee (x1f98agulshanx1f970x1f970) I finished We Are All Made of Molecules by Susin Nielsen this morning, I listened to its audiobook. Good experience :)
I really liked it.. It's all about standing up for things that don't seem right in the first place.
Teen theme.
