In my thrift store book digging I came across the most interesting book. "The Queen's Cross. A biographical romance of Queen Isabella of Spain. Now I know she isn't a Tudo but she gave birth the Katherine of Aragon who married Prince Arthur then King Henry. You can under stand Katherine's strong will through her trials and tribulations. A great insight of the role model her Mother played. Written by Lawrence Schoonover 1955.
Because September is the birthday of Elizabeth I, a couple of books featuring the Queen: Watch the Lady
Elizabeth I
I would just like to request that we wait a little bit on The Taming of the Queen by Gregory. It won't be published until the 13th of August so it will still be 'brand new' in September and therefore at its most expensive both in eBook and tBook (tree book). I'd love to have it as a monthly read...I'd just like to wait until it is a bit more affordable.
I'll nominate a couple myself: Firedrake's Eye, by Patricia Finney, and Queen's Gambit, by Elizabeth Fremantle.
The poll is here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1... , and at some point (I experienced technical difficulties in setting it up) it hope it will be on the home page of the group as well.
Yeah, you'll have to follow the link above to get to the poll; it's still not showing up on either the group's home page or the polls home page. I have no idea why this happened this time.
And the winner: Philippa Greggory's The Taming of the Queen. We'll be discussing it here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... .

If you can't remember what we've already read as a group, there's a "group read" shelf in the group's bookshelf.
Two nominations to a person.
