General is the highest Army rank, so that might not give very many options. I like the idea of reading soldier biographies though :)

Me too ... and I remembered an old advertising calendar my dad had in his store .. showing the way to butcher/cut a steer!
Then I thought of my brothers' high school team - The Buttons ... hmmmm (it refers to the rattles on a rattlesnake, which are called buttons)

Vikings Fan here...Building off what the previous posters have suggested for the fantasy football task, what about reading a book with at least one your favorite teams colors on it?
Following from the idea of something around Nov 11 (which we call Remembrance Day)... A book set in World War 1 (which ended on Nov 11). Or a book with an army rank in the title - Captain, Private, Major, General etc.

Most of them are shirtless Fabio-esque dudes, but there you go. ;)
I seem to recall a task where your cover had to have the mascot from a team on it, which helped out those of us who dislike football or come from a country where American football isn't popular. I think that might be a better way to swing it than by saying "Choose your favorite team."
