Renee (reneeconoulty) | 3309 comments Found this in the the question threads, so Holli, yes you can read the last Maze Runner for that task.

Cait wrote: "Hello again! Another question, sorry.

We've decided to be nice mods and say yes ;)

You found it quicker than me! I knew I'd seen it somewhere and scrolled through so many threads until I found it.

It didn't say what they saw at the cinema, but they watched Miss Congeniality then Titanic for a chick flick night at home the week before :)

Renee (reneeconoulty) | 3309 comments Next goal was character with first name starting with E - Elliot Lynch was the MC in The Marrying Type that I finished a few days ago, so I put that in.

Updated to here

Current goals

Read a book that contains the word leek
Read a book that is ranked 201-300 in bestsellers on book depository (http://www.bookdepository.com/bestsel...)
Read a book with a colon : in the title

message 361: by Holli (new)

Holli | 397 comments If no one else has a book with a colon in it, I have a bunch of non-fiction books on my TBR that do. They seem to live in those book titles. :)

I'm struggling to find one. You're right Holli, they are more common in non fic.

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) Fallen by Traci L. Slatton
Book: Fallen by Traci L. Slatton (242 pages)
Finished: August 13
Task: book contains the word "leek"
Rating & Review: ★★★★★. LOVED it
this book is a dystopian that follows a woman named Emma differentiating what happened BEFORE and AFTER the world shattering event. If you want a kick ass heroine with a side of romance, this is your book. I love this book will read the sequel.

Forever His (Stolen Brides, #1) by Shelly Thacker
Book: Forever His by Shelly Thacker (419 pages)
Finished: August 14
Rating & Review: ★★★.
this was a beauty and the beast retelling with an Outlander feel. Woman was transported 700 years back to France and historical times. The writing was just okay.

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) One to Hold (One to Hold, #1) by Tia Louise
Book: One to Hold by Tia Louise
Finished: 8/14
Rating: ★★★.
Melissa and her husband were going through marital problems. It appears her hsuband needed a trophy wife and Melissa wanted the real deal. Unfortunately for Melissa, she married a man who doesn't take no for an answer and won't let her humiliate him by leaving him. This one dealt with a very touchy subject in relationships--controlling rich asshole husbands and love starved young wives. I don't know if I like it enough to read book 2.

Task: Read a book that is ranked 201-300 in bestsellers on book depository: #299
Rating & Review: 2 stars

If The Scorch Trials was creepy, this one was even more so. This book's world is beyond disturbing, along with everything within it. It's very violent and has the DUMBEST ending I've read in a while. I felt it would end with Thomas (view spoiler). Ugh! All I can say about it is: Seriously?

message 373: by Renee (new)

Renee (reneeconoulty) | 3309 comments I'm laughing. We're not the first team to have the same goal simultaneously. At least it was another colon and not another leek! The joys of random!

Renee (reneeconoulty) | 3309 comments Fools Rush In: An April Fools Day Anthology

I've already read it, a fun chick lit short story anthology and it's free. Only 236 pages if someone wants a colon book?

I did actually laugh when I saw it. It must want us all to clear out our non-fiction books. :)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) Of Beast and Beauty by Stacey Jay
Book: Of Beast and Beauty by Stacey Jay (402)
Finished: 8/15
Rating: ★★★1/2.
I liked this story even though it was YA fantasy. It had depth to it and an underlying theme to treating others humanely and with dignity despite physical imperfections. I wish someone would tell Vogue, People magazine etc that it's okay not to be flawless. It didn't make you a monster or that you are defective.

message 381: by Holli (new)

Holli | 397 comments I think nearly half of what I read is paranormal. It's a fun genre. :)

message 382: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) I used to think why would anyone read a book about vampires, and yes my very first vampire book was Twilight, I actually like that book, And read the entire series, and then well I was pretty much hooked :-)

message 383: by Ezi (last edited Aug 15, 2015 01:15PM) (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) My first was Twilight (Twilight, #1) by Stephenie Meyer and Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward was my second. Then Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost (night huntress series) and then Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione (Demonica series), then Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian (Midnight Breeds)
So they are my top 5 series

Husband makes fun of me but he loves The Walking Dead and zombies

Mine is straight sci fi and military sci fi/ dystopian.
I made him read Divergent and hunger game series with me. He liked them except the romance parts
