Fairly standard KA book and enjoyable, but I didn't like it as much as the first two in the series.

KA doesn't work for me. I did LOVE

I do agree that Mitch is by far my favorite hero of hers. Of course that one the heroine drove me nuts with her rating everyone's looks constantly.

Book: The Scorch Trials by James Dashner
Finished: 8/11/15
Task: book with an author whose first or last name begins with a D
Rating & Review: 3 stars
This one was really on the creepy side. With everything that happens in it and what's brought to light in it, it's just disturbing. I wanted to read it after watching the trailer for the movie, but the book was really weird. One problem, I hate the memo at the end in the epilogue. It just destroys any suspense the whole of the book created. It basically "shows the hand" of the other side and what they're up to. If you want to build suspense, don't give what the other side is up to at the end before the next book in a series. It's an interesting ploy, but kind of reveals a bit too much for my tastes. Overall, the book is good and better than the last one, just strange.

Will update spreadsheet now.

I didn't realise you were reading it for another challenge. You got it finished way earlier than I would have anyway.

I don't think anyone should feel bad. We are in 10th place so we need as many books and as fast as we can read and complete our goals as possible

I usually don't like her heroines either but I liked her as well.

Very true. Reading is also fun and good for you. :)

No problem. I'm having fun with the challenge and am glad my other challenge books are helping here. More incentive to read them as well. My TBR scares me and the more books I read, the less terrifying it becomes. Until another shiny thing (book) bounces by to take their place. ;)
(pokes TBR mountain with sword) Stop growing so fast!

New task - read a book with sections/parts - I used Apartment 2B
Current tasks

But if you're planning to continue your Lemony Snickett reading Holli, The Grim Grotto (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #11) is #49 on the 2004 Amazon bestseller list.

I can do that! (runs off to find audio)
I think I have one or two more ahead of it, but I can get through them relatively quickly.

She begged him "not to do this thing because she wanted to gift her husband with her maidenhead". He said everyone knows you've been our captive for a week, they'll expect that you've been ruined. You are like a fire in veins and I must have you.
Then he "seduced" her. Everyone claims he loves this girl but hasn't realized it.
My issue: whether or not he loves her, she begged him not to take advantage of her. I don't care if he was gentle and brought her to orgasm which the author kept emphasizing. Hannah Howell also writes that this girl is attracted to the clan chief too and she has been for a long time.
Her family rescued her and her cousin, and he hasn't come to get her back though he's miserable.
In other HR, when men have women they love removed from them , they almost go crazy. He is looking for a reason to go kidnap her, or hoping he got her with child so he can have claim. But he isn't doing something affirmative yet.
This is a Luke and Laura situation and I never bought into their love on General Hospital either.
I have 4 hrs left on the audio, so I'll finish it and then write the author a scathing review. I get that she's attracted to her captor but she gave 2 good reasons as to why she insisted that he go to his mistress and leave her intact. He doesn't intended to marry her right now. But his dad and his clan believe he's in love with the girl but hasn't realized the extent of his feelings to claim her.
WHATEVER.

Book: Faith & Fidelity by Tere Michaels
Finished: August 11
Task: Title has three "I"
Rating & Review: ★★★★★.
i love this story. I love the building up of the relationship. I love the real fear, the emotions and the children. But most of all I loved that two straight men found companionship in each other after suffering loss in their lives. Great story

I normally like them, but this one was over the top for me. I also realize that I am applying 21st century thinking to 18th century based books. But it was just a bit much. I did go and read another book but I will finish this book out and see how the author plans on "redeeming" the hero! I will give her a chance tomorrow.

Same problem here. I came across a website that might be helpful though: openlibrary.org
I think this is the right address. If not, Google Open Library. I came across it while looking for free online libraries. They use the internet archive, so they have a lot of books and it's free to sign up. It's basically a library online and you can check out ebooks from them. Even reserve them like you would any other library and they will let you know when it's available for you to check out. It can take a little doing on finding some of the books by title or author, but worth a shot. It can also use your zip code to tell you what library near you that has a a book you're searching for you might be able to check out. I've only used it a little bit, but it seems like a good site.

Book: Nevermore by Kelly Creagh (564 page)
Finished: August 11
Rating & Review: ★★. I don't know what the heck this book is about. I don't enjoy poetry and I don't care about Edgar Allen Poe. I thought i was getting a Popular cheerleader falls for weirdo freak boy during a class project. Almost twilight-ish. It kinda was, but it wasn't that. I was disappointed.

You're welcome. Hope it proves useful for you. :)

Lol. Thanks. Like Edgar Allen Poe, this book was dreary.

Book: The Grim Grotto by Lemony Snicket
Finished: 8/12/15
Task: Read a book that is in the Amazon 2004 bestsellers
Rating & Review: 2 stars
Captain Widdershins wore me out trying to follow his dialogue. This is the book I was hoping would explain the sugar bowl. It wasn't and expanded my dislike of its introduction. The inclusion of Carmelita Spats expands my dislike of hers as well. (throws another book at Carmelita) Although I did enjoy the paragraph explanation of what lousy meant.
I think I just od'd on Lemony Snicket.
