Read it a couple years ago, I think. Some city engineer discovers his city's secrets and the governing forces try to hunt him down.

What country is it set in, or what city? Real city or imaginary? What is the nature of the secrets?

Fantasy or scifi? Was the book new when you got it several years ago? ie: you've only given us a 'no earlier than 2013 publishing date', correct? I'm assuming dead tree, or is it used electron format? What type of engineer? How big of a city? Where/how does he hide? From what type of forces? What type of secret? How did they find out he knew?
