April Wilson (aprilwilson) How do you give out an Amazon gift version of an e-book? I've heard this mentioned, but have no idea how to do it.

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) Hi April. On the .com site at least, there is a button below the one click, send sample, and (where applicable) KU, that says "give as a gift." I remember this being a yellow button with a bow, but I just looked at one of my books and it looks like a gray button now. I'm not sure if this option is available for any of the international markets. All you need is the email address of the person you are sending it to.

Thanks, Christina. I never even noticed that button before. Thank you so much!!

The cool thing about giving as a gift: yes, it cost you, but you get your royalty back on the purchase.

Ellison Blackburn (ellisonblackburn) | 130 comments I used this "gift" feature when I launched my title to winners of during my launch party promotions, beats bookmarks since there isn't much use for a bookmark for the e-book. Have also used it for promotion giveaways (blog tours), since paperback versions as giveaways can really eat away the marketing budget.

Just throwing out it's other uses.
