Angela Critics (quiltinglibrarian) | 16 comments I really enjoyed this one. Of course, I've yet to meet a graphic novel by Faith Erin Hicks that I didn't enjoy. One thing I really liked about this one was the strong female characters. The cheerleaders are not pretty, fluff-heads. They are smart and ambitious, and a bit ruthless. But my favorite character was Joanna. She may be a geek, but she's a feisty, strong girl who drives a mean robot. No socially awkward wall flower here.

Tahleen I loved this one too! I will have to reread it, since I read it a while ago.

Jmrunninglib | 25 comments I just finished this one, 2 thumbs up. I liked that this topic was presented in a graphic format with a variety of characters. I too liked the strong female leads, but I love the 2 males from different social spears at school that remain loyal throughout.

Emily | 4 comments I would hand this to a lot of my middle and high school readers who aren't yet fans of graphic novels. It's nice to see a mature graphic novel that has no violence, sex, or really much swearing. I thought it was fantastic and endearing.

Sarah This was really cute. I've quickly become a devotee of Faith Erin Hicks. I enjoyed the brief mention, and debunking of, fake geek girl culture at the robot competition.

Jess (jmor) I really loved this one. The story and art were pitch perfect. All the characters were well-rounded. And I appreciated how the cheerleaders didn't end up being stereotypical mean girls.

Bethany Miller (nwhslmic) | 14 comments I really liked this one. It was a fun read. I definitely would not have picked it up if it wasn't for the Hub Challenge and I'm glad that I did.
