She woke up hours later and pulled the blanket around her, staring at him intently.

She said nothing. She didn't know if really had been an accident or not. She didn't even know what whipped cream was. If he had tried to kill her she wouldn't waste her breath to speak to him, but she couldn't send him out alone with that leg. She mentally cursed her habits of helping hurt animals because now she was helping him and she wasn't sure if he wanted her hurt or not but his eyes seemed sincere...
She watched him, not trusting him entirely.
She didn't sleep. She hadn't spent much time with people and had trouble reading them.
"If you can, do. If not stay." She said. She went to heat up some food.

She asked herself why he would but could figure how out he couldn't have known. To her it was the most obvious poison in the forest. She felt safer alone anyways.

She went outside. She could tell it would rain tonight so went to be kind and tell him. She was able to follow his tracks and stood about 20 feet away from him, "It rain tonight."

"The rain will bring it down. It rain hard," she shuffled her feet, so many questions floated in her head.
"Alright," she said. She started to leave then asked, "Um...what's whipped cream and why would it go on my face...?

She looked more confused and slightly worried, "Are those all poisons to? What's a Santa Claus?"

She looked startled, "And you find that funny?"
"I'm fat?!" she said registering that Santa had been fat and now felt angry. So maybe it had been an accident but did he think she was was fat too?
"Because I'm fat?" she asked.
"So, you...you really didn't know?"
"Okay...I...I'm just scared...people scare me," she confessed.
That stung her. She snapped, "All they've ever done is hurt me. I try and help and nearly die. I still chase after them to warn them it's going to rain when all I want to do is run. At least I tried." She turned away and headed home, "I'm sorry I bothered you."
"I know what that is. And it still hurts to hear it like that."
She turned around for a second, "If it too cold, my house has fire." She turned away and walked off, shoulders slumped over. she had never had a friend. She wasn't great with people but...he was the closest she'd ever had to a friend. But she was better, safer on her own. She why did she feel to sad?

She shivered as the rain fell and trekked back to start a fire in the fire place making sure everything was inside.
She wondered if he'd come back.
She was too far away she was in her house, at the window, watching and waiting to see if he would come back. Or it he was still too mad.
She didn't want to bother him if he hated her and he had seemed mad.

She noticed the pants she had never finished for him still lying on her bed. She sighed.
