I know what you mean. These short stories are causing a whole new set of emotions for each character.

Goddess of the underworld - done (view spoiler)[ I should feel bad for Persephone and I kinda do but I really feel bad for Hades because he has gone through so much.

All these gods are just immature and have the biggest heads and egos in the world. Marrying the daughters and sons off and turning on each other. (hide spoiler)]

The Lovestruck Goddess done (view spoiler)[I liked this story but I also feel mixed emotions about Aphrohite. In the series, I loved her until the end of the second book. Now this. I get that she is the Goddess of love so the personality works but since it is choosen by the gods, I have a hard time accepting her behavior at times (hide spoiler)]

I overall enjoyed this. However it has changed my opinion on the gods and who they are. It provided background and a visual of why they act the way they do but that still does not get them off for any and all their actions.

It was nicely written and I love a great background story. (hide spoiler)]

God of Thieves (view spoiler)[I actually like James. While he should not be evening trying to think about moving in on another's partner, he at least cares and has a good heart. Less selfish than the others. And Hades has a cold, cruel streak I didn't quite expect. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I liked that we got to see how they chose who ruled over what domains. Hades giving up the sky for Zeus just shows his personality even more. I just loved him more because of this story. This novella, being focused on Hera, really showed us how much being the Queen and power means to her. Enough to marry Zeus for it, even though she hates him. I can tell what led her to be the person she was in the entire series. I loved getting to see how all the Gods and Goddesses came to be in this version of Greek Mythology. But I still don't like Hera. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I thought this was a cute story. They never mention Ares and Aphrodite's son (Eros) in the series, (at least not that I remember) so it was surprising to read about that. I love that we got to see how Aphrodite chose the name Ava. That was a sweet moment! And that twist with Cyrus! I didn't like Ares after everything that happened as much. At the end, I was definitely team Hephaestus! Overall, a very sweet story that fits Ava's personality perfectly! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I know this novella is supposed to be from Persephone's perspective, probably to get us to understand her feelings, but I do not feel bad for her at all. Instead, I feel horrible for Hades. He's trying to accommodate her and is so respectful of her after their marriage, and she says that he is "unlovable"! She doesn't even give him a chance. (view spoiler)[Still feel so bad for Hades. Persephone sounds like a brat. I know she isn't happy and she didn't have a choice, for which I do feel slightly bad for her, but it seems like she doesn't care about Hades' feelings at all. She literally says "It isn't my fault he loves me and it isn't my fault we can't be happy together". This story just made me feel even worse for Hades but love him more. I'm so glad that he eventually has Kate in the series because he needs someone to make him happy and love him back. I'm glad that Demeter realizes how sad Persephone is making Hades too. (view spoiler)[Love how we find out how Hermes takes on the name James. And how all the Gods come to the conclusion to change thier names. Iris was a new character that we got to meet and I love how she banters with Hermes. The rest of the story was okay, but I think it's because I've never been too fond of Hermes/James as a character or a God. We did get to see a soft side to him though with Tuck. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Aww this was such a cute story! This honestly makes me even more mad at Calliope. Knowing that she is behind all the girls' deaths (from the main series), it makes me angry that she would risk Henry fading just so she could be with him. But I love how Diana/Demeter is fighting for Henry/Hades. We also get to see the state that Henry is in, even more, when the first book picks up. (hide spoiler)]

It's cool to see the other perspective of the books and to see how much the Council (minus Calliope) wanted Henry to succeed and not fade. The scene with Henry visiting Kate in NY was so cute!
