Two movies for the last part of the Hunger Games Trilogy - here you can compare them all, what do you think of them separately and together, was the job well done or not so well done. Here we expect spoilers in abundance :)

Powder River Rose (powderriverrose) | 40 comments I saw Part 2 yesterday at the theater and it was anti-climactic in my opinion. True the last half of the book was basically the same but it kept the two parts as a whole so one was more impressed overall; it was just rather blah....I left thinking "well I guess they had to finish it someway." While the director left out some of the travel forward to the President's home I loved the scene with the oil. Amazing. They also did a fair job of showing the psychological issues with Peeta and....hmmmm, the girl..., but it floundered a bit.
From beginning to end I still liked the book better for the details, but the clothing, stunts, production was quite the cinematic achievement.

Book Vamp Jade Williams (honey01) | 24 comments I agree completely with you Powder River Rose, there was just something missing from the Movie. In a way the book was able to carry over the weight of her feelings and decisions concerning Peta and President Snow feels a but more menacing in writing than on film, although I think Donald Sutherland is perfect for the role. I have some issues with book as well, somehow Katness wasn't as strong/clear the second time round for me.

Powder River Rose (powderriverrose) | 40 comments Yes, so true. The movie lost a lot of the relationship between Katness, Peeta and Snow. And it's funny, I don't remember movie 3 showing much of the torture against Peeta and movie 4 certainly didn't show it, but the book I remember well. Donald Sutherland is the perfect evil man (his smile still gives me chills) and I think the movie made a good choice with Julianne Moore as President Coin....they created a great atmosphere for the scene when they killed her, though in the theater people who hadn't read the books could see that coming. I have to admit while I thought she needed to be killed I was surprised and pleased when in happened in the book. hehe

Book Vamp Jade Williams (honey01) | 24 comments Lmao I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought so.
