I liked this book the best out of the series. The overall dystopian idea were pretty standard, but it had some original elements to it. Decent young adult fiction story.
I agree with Alana, there where some definitely some elements that where original and evoked emotion early on in the book. In fact if we look at the types of reality-survivor type shows we have today, The Hunger Games is not all that far fetched an idea.
I saw the movie first then listened to the entire series in audiobook format. The book is necessary as the much of the detail for understanding is left out. Of course I liked the book better and as Book Vamp Jade says "is not all that far-fetched an idea."
