Doctor Zhivago, Howards End, Watership Down; faves!
New to this - and just thought that I would get started so have read one book but .. its NOT autumn until Saturday. This is a personal challenge (yes?) so nobody else is bothered I take it .. or do I have to choose a replacement book!?
Well, the challenge is to read the books you've chosen during Autumn (1st March to 31st May) so you have got a bit of a headstart on the rest of us :)
Hmmm ... I will have to see if I can fit next month's bookclub book into the challenge categories somewhere to replace my one that I have already read :)

Yes, as Zoey says, the challenge is for Autumn and as we are still in Summer, it wouldn't count for the Autumn challenge:) Sorry Rachael!

OK. I now amend my list to delete Past the Shallows which I have jumped the gun and read and replace it with Silver Bay.

Ooh I have that on my list too Brenda, What to pick??? Was thinking of reading them in order but Safe Harbour is down near the bottom :( Maybe i'll use that Random app thing - which challenge did you have the link to it?
Bec wrote: "Autumn starts this Saturday - do we all have our 1st books at the ready?? Which one to choose first??? Happy reading everyone"Choosing what to read first will be hard. I have Dust (Silo 3) by Hugh Howey and The Loveliest Chocolate Shop in Paris by Jenny Colgan both sitting on my coffee table calling to me - maybe I need a toss of Brenda's lucky coin?

Found the link - Random doesn't quiet work for this (too many duplicates) but at the bottom there is an option for sequence so this will be the order I am going to read in:1
9
3
5
11
7
6
8
2

saves me feeling guilty over who I chose first lol and I get to read Safe Harbour 2nd!!

Excellent! Thank you Brenda!
Maybe you need to incorporate an automatic coin tosser into GR to save you from this onerous duty:)

Looking forward to seeing what you think of this one, Carolyn - it's been on my list almost a year!

Bec wrote: "Autumn starts this Saturday - do we all have our 1st books at the ready?? Which one to choose first??? Happy reading everyone"Mine has to be Anzac Biscuits which is a picture book. It is a library book picked especially for the challenge and is due back. Grandson is coming over on the weekend so will read it to him :)
Then I can make a start on the "grown-up" books :)
its lovely to read picture books! I get to do it every second week to a group of special needs kids we have at our school - they love it and so do I

Has been raining all day. Looks like we are in for a wet weekend in Sydney after all. All the better for starting the Autumn challenge :)

Supposed to be clearing on Sunday Steve, so should be OK for flying.

Great idea Bec to use the randomiser (didn't see it until you pointed it out), I've done the same and will be reading one of my TBR England, England by Julian Barnes
Not long now until you can all begin! Have a lot of fun reading through your lists until the end of Autumn:)

Oh my goodness! It is TEEMING down in Sydney this morning. Great excuse for curling up with a book and starting the Autumn Challenge but not so good for Mardi Gras! Hope it clears up before this evening.
I've finished my first for this challenge - what a brilliant read! #9, Whaleshark Festival (and I had no idea how perfectly this book suits this category!)
