"Okay, then," Eli replied. He took a couple of steps away from her and started to shift. His face elongated and arms turned into front legs. Fur grew over his whole body, and within seconds it was done. He shook himself.
"I have to admit, a little disturbing, but I'll get used to it..." She said looking down at Jake and quickly felling his fur. She had to admit, he was amazingly soft. She quickly lifted her hand though before she was petting him all over. "Okay. Much better. Led on."
It took some getting used to, myself, Jake said, starting to walk forward again. Can you hear me like this?
She flinched and looked down at him. "Yes, but you can talk in my head?" She asked pretty amazed.
Something like that... Jake thought for a second. but I can't read your thoughts or anything if that's what you're thinking.
"Oh that's good then." She said to herself as she walked with him. "Were you born a shapeshifter or... Turned into one?"
Uh... well, it just sort of happened one day when I was sixteen. I always assumed it was a genetic thing in my family, but I dunno really. Jake shrugged as he walked.
"Oh. Do you know any others like you?" She asked softly as they walked and she looked around the forest. 'Did he run away when he realized he was a shapeshifter?' She thought.
Jake shook his head. No. I generally keep to myself out here.
"Oh. Okay." She said and kept watching him, now she stopped asking questions. She just wanted to rest her head and get out.
Jake had been afraid she'd bombard him with questions he didn't want to answer, so he was relieved that she kept it at that. He continued through the forest, following an unmarked path,
She looked at the path and looked around a bit more. 'How long has he lived here?' She thought to herself. "How do you even eat or get water out here. Do you drive out of the woods to a supermarket?"
Jake glanced back at her and saw that she was looking around the woods. Something wrong?
"No. I'm just thinking." She said looking back at him. She reaches forward and pets him softly on the head to calm her thoughts.
Jake immediately started to wag his tail when she petted him. Stop that, he said, embarrassed.
She looked behind her and saw his tail wagging. She smiled a bit. "Oh. You get happy when I pet you." She teased.
I said, stop it, Jake said with a slight laugh. I can't help what my tail does, it has a mind of its own.
She smiled a bit and then stopped. "Alright." She said feeling better now. "Are we almost there?"
Thank you, Jake said when she stopped. Yeah. It's right here. He pushed through a last row of underbrush revealing a cabin.
She looked at the cabin with surprised eyes. "Wow. It's pretty big and nice." She looked around and then back down at him.
Yeah it's not much, but it's home. Jake replied. care to come inside?
She nodded slightly and walked to the door. She opened it up and looked around. "For a cabin in a forest it's pretty nice..." Morgan said.
Jake followed her inside. Thanks. I can't take the credit for it, though, I just sort of found and claimed it. I did fix it up a little, though.
"Oh. Your pretty lucky then." She said looking around. "How did you get the furniture? Also, do you have plumbing and food." She asked him.
Some of the furniture was already here, Jake replied. And yeah, the place is pretty well stocked, and there's an old toilet, I'm not sure if it works.
"Oh. That's good." She did one glance around the room before sitting down tiredly on the couch he had. She rubbed her head a bit before looking at him and petting him again.
Jake dodged out of the way when she started to pet him. He bounded up in the rocking chair and say down on his haunches.
She rolls her eyes and lays down. 'I guess he's still a wolf.' She thought to herself as she shook her head slightly. "Ugh. I hate this headache."
I've got something that might help if you have a headache, Jake told her. He hopped off the chair and padded into the kitchen, shifting back to his human form.
"Oh okay." She said and watched him. She closed her eyes and tried to relax a bit, but it wasn't working.
Jake had stocked up on a lot of things during his last trip to town, and he still had some painkillers in the cabinet. He grabbed a couple and a glass of water, and brought them over.
She nodded to him and took the painkillers with some water. It had calmed her head down s bit so she could function right. "Thank you." She said softly.
"No prob," Jake replied with a smile. Realizing it was starting to get a little cold, he put some logs on the fireplace.
She watched as he put the logs in quietly and then looked at him. She watched him for a bit before getting up and walking to the kitchen to get a snack.
Jake sat back in the rocking chair and watched as she went into the kitchen. "Can I get you anything?"
She stopped and looked at him. "No. I'm fine. I'll find something." She said simply looking around for something to eat.
Jake shrugged. "Suit yourself." He stirred the fire a little.
She sighed. "Where is the food? What do you have here anyways?" She asked him.
Jake hopped up and went into the kitchen. "I mostly have non perishables. Typically when I want something fresh I just go hunt. There should be some crackers here, though... Ah here we go." He pulled down the box out if one of the cabinets.
She watched and grabbed the crackers. "Oh okay." She said and started to eat it.
"Is that okay, or do you need something else? It's nearing dinner one, so I can fix a meal," Jake said.
"A meal would be nice." She said with a small nod of her head. She ate the crackers though.
"Sure. I'm going to hunt, I'll be right back." He opened the door.
"Hunt?" She quickly went with him. "I don't want to be left alone. Also, I can help if you want." She said following him.
"Have you ever hunted before?" Jake turned and looked at her, raising an eyebrow.

She frowned. "I could have, but don't remember it. Maybe I was hunting and got knocked out." She said. "I just want to go with you."
Jake nodded. "Okay, sure. But be careful where you step, and don't make any noise." He walked out the door and shifted into a wolf again.
She nodded and followed him like she had coming here, but kept quiet and was doing a pretty good job. They both sounded quiet.
