Monica (monica_garza) | 1 comments Growing up I read Harlequin Romance books. They didn't define who I am now but oh well...

Regina (regferk) | 1 comments All of them? I was a voracious reader. How could I pick just one? Maybe Little Women or Island of the Blue Dolphins was instrumental in shaping me. But it could have just as easily have been The Lorax or Are You There God, It's Me Margaret. How long does childhood last? Into Junior High/Middle School? Then maybe it was Mark Twain's Huck Finn or all the Heinlein books I read. I give up. The question is just too hard.

Cathy Keibler | 1 comments I think that the book that had the most impact on me when I was young (post "child" but pre "adult") was Johnny Got His Gun--it was the first book that had me questioning whether those in charge actually had my best interest at heart, questioning following the rules and questioning blindly following someone just because they are the "leader".

Tiffany (apiphany) | 3 comments Great question Monica, I loved all of Judy Blume's books so they must be mentioned. I also loved From the Mixed up Files of Mrs Basil E Frankweiler. I wasn't planning on running away to live secretly in a museum per se, but I loved their whimsical detective work that turned out to solve a real mystery. I've recently started the Anne of Green Gables series because I didn't read them when I was younger, so far, I love them too. =)
