Carol Tietsworth | 203 comments Hi, my name is Carol Tietsworth, and I am a professionally trained proofreader and an experienced copy-editor. I see a lot of new authors using beta readers to find mistakes before their book goes to the publisher, and that's good. A beta read is to catch the flaws, but it is in no way meant to be a detailed examination. A lot of the best authors have a few beta reads before they employ a copy editor. No one can catch everything, but this combination is your best bet. I charge .004/word for straight proofreading, and .006/word for copy-editing. Contact me at legal2b@yahoo.com.
