Energy Policy... Frankly, I think it would be nice if the Trump administration had one.
Presidential orders are useful, but only when used judiciously and not theatrically to pander to one's base and mask the realities our country must face.
Trump’s order on energy promises coal jobs and a clean environment. What does that look like?
The Trump administration argues electricity prices will rise double digits without coal production, though this assessment relies on a report paid for by a coal lobby.
‘Difficult slog’ ahead to undo Obama climate legacy, says former EPA chief
...since EPA has been around, we have reduced air pollution 70 percent, while we tripled the GDP. And I think nobody in this country is really willing to go back to a time when the air was polluted and the water was polluted. ...And we don’t have to for jobs. We certainly know that, particularly when it comes to clean energy. The reality is that clean energy is fiscally responsible today. It’s being chosen by many states and utilities and mayors. Already, that is where the investment is heading. ...That’s where jobs are.
Perhaps worst of all, in order to tweet "Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! brought to you by Me! Me! Me!", Trump is ignoring economic reality: Coal is a dinosaur (pun intended) that is becoming less and less competitive in the marketplace.

Low Costs of Solar Power & Wind Power Crush Coal, Crush Nuclear, & Beat Natural Gas
Cheap Natural Gas To Spark Another Wave Of Coal Plant Retirements
...natural gas prices have plunged to their lowest levels in almost two decades over the past year, deepening the pain for coal miners as coal becomes increasingly uncompetitive…
The coal industry is being phased out by economic reality, NOT REGULATION. No tweet and no executive order is going to change that.
Is it painful? Yes, but then it's also harder these days to make a living selling stage coaches, trading horses, repairing VCRs, mixing powder for wigs, making whalebone corsets...

Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump.
Everyone's losing their damn minds over Trump.
Every day people watch the news to see What did he do today?

Pure guess, but... There are several reasons for this:
1. People are beginning to notice that bringing a copy of The Art of the Deal into The Basilica di Santa Croce in Florance, Italy, causes the corpse of Niccolò Machiavelli to sit up and shout, "My hero!"
2. There are some competence issues with his staff. For example, White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon is to 'statecraft' as crocodile is to 'babysitting'.
3. It's rumored that Trump tweeted and deleted his primary regret: That it's no longer 1804, so he can't declare himself emperor and put his extra relatives on the Spanish throne and a few other thrones from minor European countries that he now knows about thanks to his NATO Deadbeats map.
4. PolitiFact, Snopes, FactCheck.org, The Washington Post Fact Checker, et al, are now boasting more job security than any other firms in the US.
5. Human nature: Everyone is fascinated by a train wreck.
Besides, many standup comedians are still pissed off that Trump told the funniest joke in Mexican history...something about who would pay for a wall...

Name one advance of human civilization that was not supported and\or enforced by politicians.
Every profession has its flaws. Medicine still has witch doctors. Engineers still have bridges that fall down. And politics still has their "lying cheating racist sexist bastards." Likely, this will never change.

PS. At this point, there's no denying that Trump is indeed a politician. He's just not very good at it.

Official Politically Incorrect Warning: If you happen to be a college student, now is the time to run for your safe room.

Neil Gorsuch’s confirmation shattered political conventions. Here is why.
The confirmation of Justice Neil M. Gorsuch to the Supreme Court has left shattered political conventions in its wake: the refusal to hold hearings for Merrick Garland, the first partisan filibuster of a high court nominee, and the demise of the Senate filibuster for judges altogether.

Wondering about air quality or that runoff in your drinking water? Fortunately, the EPA has a new set of advisers.

You may have noticed the recent headline:
Bill O’Reilly is officially out at Fox News
While it's perfectly normal to focus on the lurid details, there is a broader picture of significantly more importance. For more than 20 years, Bill O'Reilly has been a primary source of alternative facts, misquotes, quotes taken out of context, on-air verbal abuse and denigration of guests, and complete fabrications for a significant portion of the country's television viewers. If you are at all compassionate, you cannot reasonably expect O'Reilly viewers to quit cold turkey just because he made the workplace a living hell for numerous professional women. Forcing O'Reilly to leave posthaste is unjust, arbitrary, and unfair to those television viewers who find comfort living in a conservative bubble.
Where has compassion gone?
How can we ask O'Reilly viewers to substitute lesser (Possibly even, honest!!!) program hosts without a lengthy period of adjustment?
How can we ask O'Reilly viewers to risk exposure to genuine, verifiable facts while they search for a replacement "news" source? For many people, such a shock could be truly unbearable! Maybe even bubble threatening!!
Obviously, FOX "News" haslost advertisers out the wazoo made a mistake. O'Reilly should have been locked up, sued for every penny, made to watch reruns of his show, phased out over a period of months. For the good of the country, the professional women at FOX "News" should have purchased firearms, carried mace in their purse, hired lawyers as sleazy as O'Reilly, viewed living with crushing emotional distress as patriotic during this period of O'Reilly adjustment. AND, the supposed leadership at
FOX "News" should have actively promoted such an O'Reilly adjustment period becausefrankly, they don't care what they air corporate greed responsibility is as American as apple pie.
How can you help?
Volunteer NOW in your community to alleviate the suffering of addicted O'Reilly viewers.
If you find a victim of O'Reilly withdrawal in your neighborhood, please have a heart... Lie to the poor bastard. Give him or her a few alternative facts that you may have found where the sun don't shine. And don't forget verbal abuse! Yell at your dog in front of him. If you're brave, yell at your wife. To save time, don't misquote anyone, just make up quotes that you believe will be comforting, such as, "According to the New York Times, Trump read a book."
If you're worried that you don't have the savvy to quote things out of context, there is expert help available. Just sign the withdrawal victim up for the tweets from the Republican National Committee.
And if you truly want to go the extra mile to alleviate this suffering, find some statistics that make absolutely no sense and are poorly sourced, then tell each and every victim that you believe them wholeheartedly.
Compassion is NOT dead in America. Rational people can indeed help, so don't pass on this opportunity!

That is maybe the saddest thing I've yet read about this administration. (Just the headline. I didn't read the article, as I have run out of anti-depressants).

Hey, does anybody besides me believe that, if you're stupid enough to go to places like North Korea and Iran, you deserve whatever happens to you?

That depends.
People who are making humanitarian efforts in distressed areas of the world are incredibly brave, and their intentions are certainly noble—the relief of human suffering. If these people are victimized, I appreciate any efforts the government makes to rescue them.
On the other hand, people who are trying to profiteer in distressed or war torn areas are unprincipled, careless of every human life, and completely dishonorable. If I believed in karma...

Right? Any place known for things like rebels, insurgents or guerrillas should not be high on anyone's list of ideal travel destinations.

I feel this way about Mexico. The violence even in border towns is off the charts. Many Americans look at Mexico as a viable place to retire. What???? Do they think the violence and corruption will just bypass them?
