While I don't agree with Senator John McCain's politics more often than not, the man is a genuine war hero and deserving of our respect and gratitude. This is the second time that Trump has publicly disparaged the senator. Being ex-military myself, forget the political motivations, this does nothing but anger me.
Frankly, I'd like to see Trump's record of service to his country.

I'm heading out in a few hours to visit a treasured friend - a 94-year-old World War II POW now in a hospice with cancer. He's one of the kindest, most thoughtful and caring people I've ever met. Tweets like that are absolutely rage inducing to me.

Trump had to go to military school because he was a trouble-maker. His teachers spent so much time trying to protect the other students from him that they never addressed his learning disability. It really bothers me that we have a leader who can't read above a third grade level...much less comprehend what he reads. Is it too much to ask for in a President?

In addition to his taxes, I'd like to see Donnie's college transcripts. I've heard that his grades were so bad, Fred Trump had to buy his son's way into Wharton.
This doesn't sound like someone who is "like, a smart person" to me.

I have noticed that. When people start a sentence with, "I am", they are usually the opposite. Those who talk about sex are not having any, me thinks you protests too much...etc. Too many examples to list.

Maybe because..."the more you know, the more you know you don't know"?

In a related phenomenon, I was a bit of an egghead (well, still am), and in my high school and college days that was something of an impediment to dating. What I found, sadly, was that the only men who didn't seem to be intimidated by a straight-A student where the intelligent ones. The idiots had no problem trying to hit on me.
BTW, in HS I thought I was pretty damn smart, so I probably deserved to be left alone. But it didn't take too long at college for me to recognize that there were plenty of people smarter than me, so it wasn't just me being fat-headed!

Contrary to some right-wing memes, there is a tremendous difference between progressive and stupid.

Melki's right. Awesome is the word.
However...
Be careful, Rodney. Salsa? You might end up on the wrong side of Trump's wall!

You know, that at least used to be what happened at college. We all went there and got radicalized, joined the Peace Corps or marched against war, and started voting opposite of our parents. It took me all the way to graduate school to lose the religion they'd taught me. And yeah, there were times along the way when I probably looked like that picture.

Currently, we anticipate... Well, maybe not... Possibly... There is some discussion... They could change their minds... Talk of a backlash... The grand plans of mice and men—mostly men...

As you may have noticed, I'm accepting of different viewpoints from the right, left, up, down, you name it... HOWEVER, this time, I was SERIOUSLY OFFENDED!!!!

The Guardian ran down the "300 scientists" who signed a letter asking Trump to leave the UN Climate Agreement.
Just who are these 300 'scientists' telling Trump to burn the climate?
...what about the signers of the letter? Surely they are experts in the field? Not so much. ...I guess having a first and last name are sufficient to be included in this list of eminent scientists.
The primary qualification for joining the opposition to Climate Change data appears to be an inability to understand it.

Sadly, yeah. Pretty much anyone can claim to be a "scientist."
Let me also note that lots of people use the label "meteorologist" (as in "TV Meteorologist") with essentially no training, let alone education, in the field.
Kudos to the author of the Guardian article for taking the time and effort to track down some of these people.

In my previous post the second part was not published. Is this a techie glitch or have I been censored?
Surely Not?

I'm not sure what post you're referring to, Alan. In this group, NOTHING is censored, though I have occasionally deleted comments by authors who were aggressively pushing their books in the wrong places. (We have a special thread for pimping one's book.)

That's a relief. Hope you didn't mind me asking. Political correctness is creeping in everywhere. The constitutional right to free speech is taking a battering.
Wealthy Would Get Billions in Tax Cuts Under Obamacare Repeal Plan
Two of the biggest tax cuts in Republican proposals to repeal the Affordable Care Act would deliver roughly $144 billion over the coming decade to those with incomes of $1 million or more, according to a congressional analysis.

We could probably use a "share" button, too. A joke is near worthless if not shared.

I always look forward to your jokes - and you get a lot of Secondary Giggles from my Canadian friends (my dad - who just turned 80 - shared your Canadian Uber meme with all of his friends :-)

Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance an inability to govern happen to them all.
