Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) Does anyone else besides me, like looking at books on goodreads and adding them to your tbr pile? Even though that means your tbr pile gets bigger.

I just get excited about finding books that seem interesting to me.

Diane (dianedj) I'll be the first to reply YES ... and I'll be alot of other people will follow with the same reply!

message 3: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Hi, this is TNBBC AKA Bookaholics-R-Us, have we met? LOL

I think everyone in this group is a TBR-Addition-Addict. I know I am. I even have a shelf dedicated to my GR finds, and it's not my TBR!

April (booksandwine) | 954 comments Constantly. I also always add books to my TBR list that my GR friends highly rate. My TBR on GR is almost 1000 books.

message 5: by Diane (new)

Diane (dianedj) ahhh.... GR Finds....clever shelf! and not part of the TBR. I like that!

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) Yay! I'm not alone!!!

Marci (iread49) | 215 comments 5 last week, 5 yesterday do you see a pattern!!!???

message 8: by Elena (new)

Elena | 45 comments In fact, I've 'discovered' plenty of new authors and books thanks to GR. Perhaps it will take mne ages to read them al, but nevertheless, it has helped me broaden my literary horizons! :)

message 9: by Liz (new)

Liz This is a definite yes, especially if several of my friends give a book a positive review.

message 10: by Carol (new)

Carol (caroldias) Just copied Becky and did a gr-finds exclusive bookshelf haha
Now I feel more confortable adding all the finds I see!

message 11: by Edith (new)

Edith | 256 comments Absolutely! I love it b/c it's opened me up to books that I wouldn't normally have picked up. I love adding to my TBR list.

message 12: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Ellis | 176 comments Good morning to all. I am an Author. My book cover is the 'photo' here. The old door is in my writing room. The woman is me throwing bread up to the birds in Galveston.
Goodreads has opened up a whole world to me, too, and I love it, as you good folks have said here also.
Sweet reading & discovering books,
Sharon

message 13: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1000 comments Of course! Even though I work in a bookstore, most of my TBR additions are found through GR. The update feed is a dangerous (or wonderful) thing. :)

message 14: by Gina (new)

Gina (so_vintage87) | 5 comments omg of course lol

message 15: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (sianin) That is why I signed up with GR in the first place so absolutely yes.

Sharon, I am pretty sure by now we all know you are an author. Please keep your posts within the threads related to the threads you are posting in. This is a pretty blatant plug, tho it really has nothing to do with finding new books to read here on this site.

message 17: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne (bellamy22) | 610 comments Every day!!! Of course!
I'm starting to scare myself with this list, but it gives me direction when I am ordering or shopping in person! And, beware, we have some of the best reviewers... you cannot resist a book once you read one of them!
Fiona, is that you?!!

message 18: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne (bellamy22) | 610 comments Lori, you have the best photos. This latest one would make a great print!

Suzanne, thanks :) It was preset in anticipation of my vacation to Inner Harbor, Baltimore!

message 20: by Julie (new)

Julie | 52 comments Absolutely. That's the reason why my TBR list is soooo long!

Lori, enjoy the Inner Harbor...it's great!

Actually, Julie, I am already back! We go every year about this time....

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

YES! I can't tell you the minutes/hours I spend indulging in this activity. It's nice to know someone else enjoys this same activity.

message 23: by Jen (new)

Jen (jeninseattle) | 0 comments Heck Yes. But the problem is, I keep adding more than I read, so the TBR pile never gets any smaller!

Welcome back, Lori. I lived in Baltimore a million years ago and worked near the Harbor. Is the seafood restaurant Phillips still there?

Yes, a landmark! I have fond memories of Baltimore and would love to visit again one day.

I do that a lot too xD It's one of my ways of finding new and exciting books too, hehehe. It's especially bad whenever I finally get around to reading my TBR pile and I discover a ton of books here that I should check out *blushes*

message 28: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne (bellamy22) | 610 comments Isn't Baltimore where Duff has that incredible cake business that is on Food T.V.??? Or Food Channel?!
OMG...those cakes are crazy and I about lose my mind when I watch that show!!!
This is when it comes in handy living in the middle of almost nowhere, and there are no cake places open, or even a facsimile, especially at night!!!

message 29: by Felina (new)

Felina I think I probably have more books in my TBR list then I will ever read.

message 30: by Epee (new)

Epee (epers) I used to add all the books I wanted to read to my TBR list but it was depressing as I will never get through that many.

message 31: by Taejas (new)

Taejas Kudva (kudvat) | 77 comments I've been trying to to limit my TBR to books I-would-definitely-read-right-now-if-I-had-a-copy. My physical bookpile is big enough. My TBR is functionally books that sound cool but don't own. I love that idea of having a separate GR finds shelf! :) I would make a books I own and need to read shelf, but then entering all the books would be a project I'm too intimidated to tackle. lol

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 1736 comments I add them to my "to-buy" list, usually....

Guilty as charged, y'Honor!

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) Wow, some of these statements make me depressed.

message 34: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne (bellamy22) | 610 comments Oh Fiona!!! LOL!!! Alot!!!

message 35: by Knarik (new)

Knarik My answer is certainly YES!!!

Oh yes....this is where I get a lot of ideas as well as other sites and recommendations from friends.

message 37: by GracieKat (new)

GracieKat | 864 comments I've gotten so many good recommendations on here. I love it! It's even branched me out into books that I normally wouldn't think to look for for myself but they sound so good I just can't help but add them!

message 40: by alicia (new)

alicia grant (shesha556) Yeah I love to browse on all kinds of book related sites and add to my Mt. TBR.The problem is i hardly ever read that many i put on because i have series reads i keep up with or browse the library and pick stuff up and then feel oblogated to read those first.I keep forgetting to take my tbr notebook to the library with me and then forget the titles of stuff i'm dying to read.I will say though this year so far i have read alot more books off my tbr shelf at home then i have in other years.

message 41: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (cindyreece) I love to look at what other people are reading. I will click on explore - then people and choose the first person on the list to see what they are reading. If a book comes up on several lists, I'll add it to my TBR list.

You all have given me a lot of great ideas for organizing the shelves. I tend to do that when I don't want to clean or garden or something else just as important!
