I spend way too much time on social media promotion and not enough time writing the next one.

I think everything helps though!

Trying to find a following and then get everyone in one place so you can count them is difficult. The key is engagement not numbers. You want to find that group that will be your cheerleaders, champions, and supporters. Once you find them.... The work will be easier.
Check out my social media and follow me if you think you'll get value from it.

and of course here on GoodReads.... Don't forget that!

Like your board Shannon. You're right about engagement not numbers being key. The holy grail is finding the ones who generate good word of mouth. It's tough out there.

Thank you for pointing that out. I fixed it. It's bad when you ask a question about something new you've never used and then you even list it wrong! Oh well, I'm still learning a little every day. :)

Hi Shannon,
Your facebook link is incomplete--I found you by continuing your name, but the link (as it is) is broken.
Also, the g+ link takes me to a search page and not your profile.
I thought you'd like to know.

I'm gaining more followers as I add hot/spicy pics and anything to do with reading/books. I can also see at my website tracker viewers from Pinterest, so it really does work!
P.S. I also turned my regular account into an author account, and that's how I get the analytics graph. I think you go to your settings to do this, can't remember now.
Nancy

For the book one (Blade'sEdgeBook) I pin pictures of people who look like my characters, scenes that look like the world it's set in, and women with swords. (Oh, and I pin other YA book covers there too.)
For my author account (Gwendamned) I actually pin stuff that I'm using for research, or scenes that I'm using for inspiration, so the board is more diverse and covers multiple story lines.
I have no idea what I'm doing, so I'm open to suggestions. I stopped pinning for a while because I got busy doing other promotional work, but pinterest is actually my favorite form of social media so I'd like to get back to it, and I'd love to learn how better to use it! The analytics thing that Nancy was talking about sounds super useful!

I never thought to make a board specifically for the book with pins relating to the characters! We have a board for our blog and for topics relating to the book and bookish things, but none for the book itself. Love your ideas, thanks for sharing!Do you have a link to your page? I'd love to check it out!

Well, thank you! It was fun to put together, which is a bonus since I don't always love doing other social media. Here's the link: https://www.pinterest.com/annabradley....
Have fun with your page!

Thank you! You have some great pins! And I'm right there with you on the social media. It's not my favorite thing to do most of the time, but I do enjoy Pinterest!
