I've put together a bookshelf based on the nominations we received for the "Isolation" group read theme. Such a great list.

If people wish to continue nominating books to go on this shelf, here would be the place to do it..

Richard The Diving Bell and the Butterfly: A Memoir of Life in Death - I had issues with this book but it's quite a remarkable achievement all things considered

The Insult - a man robbed of his eye sight in a random shooting discovers an alienating and threatening new existance. So beautifully crafted

The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle - the one Murakami book I have room for in my life. Wonderfully odd with a narrator who repeatedly isolates himself from the world by hiding down a well

Mary Catelli | 43 comments But Not the Hippopotamus by Sandra Boynton Yes, you find this book in the part of the bookstore where they keep the books kids can teeth on as well as appreciate having them read to them. Nevertheless, adults appreciate it.
Dread Companion by Andre Norton
The Snow Goose by Paul Gallico
