chapter 10: I'm thinking I should have re read The Darkest Minds but its only been 11 months since I read it. (view spoiler)[ so far they seem to be bumbling around a lot. I think it would help if they were to put some more thought into what they are going to do and communication would help a hell of a lot. Then again the reason for the lack of communication may be that they are not telling the full truth, trying to keep secrets while it can be a good thing it makes it hard to accomplish the objective. I still feel like they get caught way too many times. It takes way too long for Ruby to put the pieces together. Of course Clancy's mom was trying to cure her son.
The ending was okay, I am guessing the next one will be about actually getting the cure and maybe giving it to the public? (hide spoiler)]

Same. When I saw the ratings, I was so happy because I thought it would be really good. It so wasn't. Even three stars was a bit of a stretch for me.

Hi Amanda and Gillian!! I just finished Darkest Minds a couple weeks ago (I really enjoyed it) and picked up the novellas so read In Time yesterday. Can't wait to start on Never Fade. :)

I read the novella In Time a couple days ago and was super excited to dig into Never Fade today! I'll list my progress and what I'm thinking so far :)

Completed Chapter 5 - Page 95
(view spoiler)[ Right away in the beginning of course I swore that their operation had been to get Liam - to find out that it was his brother Cole. It was a bit hard to follow that first chapter just being in a completely different place starting this book.
I also have to admit that I didn't piece together who Rob was right away. I think about 45 pages in it clicked for me that he was Cate's 'partner'. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say he is not my favorite and I'm not sure why Cate is "with" him!
As I've gotten farther its been a bit easier to follow but I'm still a little bit off with their operations and teams and such but its definitely keeping me into the book! I'm sad, but also excited that we have some new characters. It'll be fun to see how Jude and Vida fall into everything. Jude and Ruby are getting ready to head out on an Op - one where she'll be looking to run off (now Jude in tow) to try to track down Liam. I'm so curious to see how Liam reacts to her and how Ruby explains everything!

Finished chapter 11 page 194

(view spoiler)[ Can i just say how happy I am to see Chubs make an appearance!?! Him and Vida sure have some conflict between them - it seems to me like they're both in the same 'role' They're both the hard headed leader type of the group. I'm curious to see how that evolves. And then there is Jude - I love him as an innocent type character. It's almost like he fulfills the Zu role this time around. Its interesting to me how Chubs has infiltrated the system of skip tracers, it has benefited them already and I wonder if it will continue to do so or if it will take a turn for the worse sooner or later. Picking it back up again for a little night reading (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Going to be jumping around a little bit here - I'm on my phone 😂 my heart did some crazy things when I heard talk about the slip kid. But that Knox was just insane! Fast forward - go Ruby...lol. Fast forward again - hooray they got the medicine, but Liam sure feels better crazy fast! ;) happy Rob is taken care of especially after being MIA all around. I do find myself wondering what's going on back at the league too after some was exposed about Rob. And then of course there are the little spurts of random memories Liam is coming across. I find it so hard to believe that Ruby was able to sort through and delete/replace absolutely everything. Of course I'm rooting for those two :) (hide spoiler)]

I was pretty surprised to see Clancy - I didn't know if he'd made an appearance this time around I do see where it ties in though. I start to lose interest in these type of books when it comes to the fighting/bombing/us united against the world type stuff but at the same time its also action packed and keeps me into it. But because its gotten to that point I didn't like this one as much as the first. Of course I'm still curious to see where it all goes so will be reading the novellas and the 3rd book later this month (hide spoiler)]

Once Chubs came back it had my full attention and the story has only been getting better since that. It's not on par with the first book at all - I rated that one pretty high.
