LOL, Robin! Yes, the mystery is the most fun sometimes. Waiting for the reveal is killer, and then the gophering for the right book to read. Hope you can make it! Working full time is hard on the reading, but one book is doable. :)

It's not even 8:30 on Saturday morning where Janice lives. We need to be really nice and give her time to look into her crystal ball and find the words to guide us through this challenge!
With everything that goes on in her neighborhood I'm surprised Janice isn't up already. Maybe she's wearing earplugs. Wakey, wakey Janice.
And to think it might be another 40 hours before all is revealed! Sunday evening 23.59 Janice's time still counts as weekend ;-)(I've been checking this thread repeatedly too!)
But no pressure Janice! Wake up, check GR, have a coffee, and then please come back and enlighten us.

Good thing it's summer and quiet at work, lots of gophering required! Fantastic challenge Janice!I was considering changing lily to rose with the idea that we might had to use the chosen words and I have a book with that word I want to read, but then I thought that probably it would get twisted all around and we would need to use the words we didn't choose. Or it would even be something totally different. Too much thinking ;-) Off to find a 5-word book!
Janice, this is an awesome challenge!Are plurals and possessives allowed? If so, I have my first possibility:
The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas
Hawk or Owl - Hawk - an item in the book - "sparrow hawks" and "his hawk's eye"
Beer or Wine - Wine - an item mentioned in the book 97 times
Flowers or Chocolate - Flowers - an item mentioned twice "ornamented with flowers" "crown of flowers"
Ocean or Lake - Ocean - an item (physical feature) mentioned 5 times
King or Jack - King - a character mentioned at over 500 times
I already have the book on my Kindle and found these using the search feature. If hawks or hawk's work (I did eliminate hawking), then this book works. Next I'll have to see how this one does on bonus points and if another book could do better.

Yes, plurals and possessives are allowed.

If you picked Lily and King as words, you could use Lily King for two of the words.

It can be either first or last name for the character.
