I'm a huge fan of Chuck and The Big Bang Theory too. Kind of surprised no one has mentioned them before now. Or at least I don't think they have.:-)

Sadly, I am currently keeping up with 65 shows! lol Luckily, I have season passes with my TiVo. I recently began watching law & order SVU, which isn't new... However, it's new for me since I never watched it before. I love Criminal Minds, CSI, Big Band Theory, V, Castle, Mentalist, and a ton more! :)

stormhawk | 1184 comments Just to brag ... I was recently at a conference and attended a day long session by Jim Reese, a Retired FBI agent, one of the first Profilers, who is supposed to be the basis of one of the Criminal Minds characters. I'm told that he's often quoted in the show.

I seen the ads for it but haven't watched it yet. It looks good. Have you seen it?

message 114: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shadowrose) I watched the premiere for Camelot yesterday night on Starz. It's pretty good so far, I hope that it stays that way so I can actually have something other then like 2 shows to watch.

message 115: by Joanne (new)

Joanne | 7 comments I watch very little TV because books are so much better. Personally, I think most of what is on TV is garbage. It would be so much better if they got rid of those so-called 'reality' programs. I could care less about the Jersey Shore or the Kardashians.
That being said, I think both Criminal Minds and the new Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour are excellent. In fact those are the only 2 shows that I know are on.

Valerie | 266 comments Michelle wrote: "I watched the premiere for Camelot yesterday night on Starz. It's pretty good so far..."

I really enjoyed it too! I saw on IMDB that they have are at least 10 episodes into the show. Really looking forward to the Borgias too... which starts tonight. And then The Game of Thrones series starts on the 17th! Been waiting for all of these series for like... 6 months! LOL

message 117: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan (jonathan1) Probably, I would say QI was the best show. With Mock The Week, Waking The Dead, and Harry Hill. TV is rubbish at the moment.

I'm definitely going to try to catch The Borgias. I don't particularly like them as actual people but since Jeremy Irons is in it I'm giving it a try.

My current favorite is "Game of Thrones". I'm excited because some new shows are beginning this summer. I'm looking forward to trying "Teen Wolf", "Secret Life of Chloe King", "Falling Skies", and "Wilfred".

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 199 comments Ooh, I can't believe I forgot to list "The Borgias" on SHOwtime.

Stephen Pearl (stephenp11) | 19 comments Being Human has 2 versions one British one American. The British one came first and I think ran for five or six English seasons and if I am right the American version is in its third season.

A Vampire, a Werewolf and a Ghost share a house as they try to live as humans.

message 128: by Cary (new)

Cary (vortigern) | 344 comments Truly good shows on TV are hard to find. The new mini series Vikings on the History Channel is an excellent drama. If you like Game of Thrones you'll totally dig Vikings. I don't like most cop shows because they are so fakey. But Southland, and FBI criminal pursuit are good. As far as Fantasy its pretty poor. Once Upon a Time. True Blood, and most HBO series are good.

message 129: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan (jonathan1) The Walking Dead
Call the Midwife - BBC, but it runs in the US too I think. It is based on an autobiography of a young midwife working in Nonatus House in the East End of London during the 1950s. a nostalgic, eye opening, absorbing and heart warming drama.
Miranda

PS- Doctor Who is no longer good, and has not been good since Matt Smith took over as the Doctor.

message 130: by Nicky (new)

Nicky (raggamuffin) | 93 comments I'm always hopelessly behind on television shows, since I don't really watch all that much television. Sometimes I wonder if I should just cancel my cable subscriptions and stick to watching DVD's and Bluray ^.^'

That being said, I do have favorite series and own most of them on DVD (although most of them are anything but 'Current').

I adore anything that has a Joss Whedon stamp (the man is an awesome storyteller), so my Buffy, Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse collection are amongst my most treasured DVD's. I have high hopes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well..

Other then that I like good sitcoms. I can watch Friends whenever, even after the nth rerun they are still funny.
Big love for the Big Bang Theory as well. That's right up my alley.
Like many of you, I also enjoy How I met your mother (and only partly because the makers are Joss-fans as well :))

I also greatly enjoyed the quirkiness of the characters developed by David E. Kelly (Ally McBeal, Boston Legal)

I watched True Blood with great interest at first (now only the eyecandy can tempt me to watch more recent seasons, but they've lost the spark that kept me engaged in the storyline.. much like the books actually)

Pushing Daisies was cute.
Castle is a recent discovery that I greatly enjoy so if I'd have to pick a favourite detective series it will probably be that one...

I also really liked the BBC's adaption of Robin Hood with Jonas Armstrong, Richard Armitage and Keith Allen.

I also really liked the first and second Season of Heroes. Things got a bit meh in season 3 and I haven't even watched season 4, but I still intend to.

Other things on my to watch list:
Doctor Who
The rest of Castle
Once upon a Time
Dead like Me

message 131: by David (new)

David Wilson | 13 comments We watch way too much TV. I think every supernatural themed show and CSI type of show - comedies - heck, we even like Duck Dynasty and Storage Wars if the mood is right. I learned back in the US Navy to write while other things are going on - sort of between the cracks - so we have TV on from 8:00 to 11:00 at night, and then another hour after going to bed...and then there's Netflix...

message 132: by Yue (new)

Yue | 38 comments The only American show I am currently watching is Arrested Development, so I can catch up with the show before the new season begins.

Other than that, I like to watch doramas, which are Asians shows. They are really good, too bad they are not very popular here in the West.

message 133: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Hall (lisah888) | 9 comments I currently DVR Vikings, Borgias, Defiance, Lost Girl, Masterpiece Mystery, Mob Wives, Justified and Grimm. I sometimes turn on Storage Wars and Duck Dynasty in the evening or Say Yes to the Dress in the afternoon.

Past DVR Marathons of reruns or Netflix seasons include: Castle, Supernatural, Being Human (British version), Once Upon a Time, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Numbers, Poirot, Downton Abbey (I wait for the season to be complete), Farscape and Lexx.

message 134: by David (new)

David Wilson | 13 comments Lisa, you'd be right at home with us. We have a Dish Network "Hopper" so all the network shows record every night, and we can either watch, or record, one other during that time. We usually do that, then switch to watching Network after prime time and recording other things. Our daughter is in the mix - she is a big fan of Once Upon a Time, and Merlin, so when those are running we get them. We watch Being Human (US) Grimm, Supernatural, Lost Girl - and then we watch whatever cop shows are running - love Castle.

Bone watched Person of Interest on Netflix. I love Jim Cavieziel.

Minority Report was terrible.

Still not sure about Blindspot

message 141: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee I'm disappointed in Minority Report too. I had such high hopes. I'll continue to look at it, though, until they inevitably cancel it.
