KR's mean comments about Prince and Elton John?

This New Yorker article states "[KR] has an occasional nice word for U2, but he is dismissive of everyone from Prince (“an overrated midget”) to Elton John (“an old bitch”) and Bruce Springsteen (“If there was anything better around, he’d still be working the bars of New Jersey”)."

I read this review before I listened to the audiobook, and I waited in anticipation for these comments to come, but they never did. Did I just zone out and miss it? Or were these comments deemed too mean and left out of later versions? Or just the audiobook?

I don't remember reading any of that. He was critical of Chuck Berry and Jagger of course. In fact I don't remember any commentary on the three people you mentioned.

Concerned about comments in a New Yorker article regarding Prince and Elton John being referred to as "an overrated midget" and "an old bitch". It's possible these comments were removed in later versions or the audiobook. Recommend reaching out to publisher or author to clarify. Language used should consider impact and a solution should be found.

I don't remember reading those comments

they are not in the book and i doubt that he said those things about prince and bruce. he and elton did have a conflict .

Butterfly Well, the New Yorker said he said those things. I'm pretty sure they didn't just make it up. ...more

Within the music industry Elton has a reputation for being a bit Cartman.
