Betti (kokenybetti) Looking for Alaska!
And also, are they going to keep making films from the Mortal Instruments? Because I read that City of Bones wasn't as good as expected:(

message 202: by Whitley (new)

Whitley | 8 comments They are starting over and making a mortal instruments to show instead

message 203: by Whitley (new)

Whitley | 8 comments **tv show

message 204: by Betti (new)

Betti (kokenybetti) @Whitley
But they are having the same actors, aren't they?

message 205: by Sherlock-Lover (new)

Sherlock-Lover (booklovergirl99) | 15 comments I so hope not

message 206: by [deleted user] (new)

James Clemens wrote a series called "The Banned and the Banished," and it was awesome! I could not put the books down, and thought to myself the whole time that it would make a great movie franchise. I even went so far as to imagine who I would want cast as the characters!

message 207: by Anjelica (new)

Anjelica (gameofbooks) | 1 comments i know the duff is being made into a movie but i wish the movie had just stayed true to the book instead of changing the whole storyline.

message 208: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 1 comments By far I would like to someone remake the pitiful excuse for a movie that was called Eragon! The movie was terrible at best, but i loved the books!

message 209: by Sherlock-Lover (new)

Sherlock-Lover (booklovergirl99) | 15 comments Same

Mary Bronson | 11 comments Dana wrote: "Wicked as in the book that is also a stage show? I thing it would be cool to see it as a non-musical movie. I think the whole making musicals into movies fad is a little bit overdone right now, and..."

I think I would like the book series to be made into a movie. Also maybe the stage version only if they got the original cast

message 211: by Sneha (new)

Sneha (snehapriya) I really wish they remake Percy Jackson Series. With actual kids this time. And continue with all 10 books.

message 212: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) The Endlands by Vincent Hobbes. It would be like a modern Twilight Zone, Outer Limits and Tales From the Dark Side type of deal.

Vlad: The Last Confession, some may not like the real telling of Dracula as it would seem boring and they'd be waiting for Dracula who never shows up but I myself would really enjoy this.

The comic The Manhattan Projects would make an excellent film.

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments The Pierce Brown books that I'm reading reads like a screenplay. I'm interested to see Red Rising as a movie because it took me a while to get through all the jargon and action.

message 215: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Lingenfelter (stephanielingenfelter) The Selection, Better Off Friends, Take A Bow, and Anna and the French Kiss

message 216: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Scott I agree, the Selection would be such a great movie!!

message 217: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) As a comic and video game I think The Darkness would make an excellent movie. It'd kind of be like The Godfather meets Alien lol. I just recently beat the 1st game, I'd like to play the 2nd and read the comics but even more so I'd love to see it made into a movie.

message 218: by Alex (new)

Alex Carabetta (alex4503) | 3 comments They NEED to make these movies, and some might be "in the works."
-Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
-Warriors by Erin Hunter
-Seekers by Erin Hunter
-Legend by Marie Lu
-Michael Vey Prisoner of Cell 25 by Richard Paul Evans
C'mon movie people! Make it happen!!!

message 219: by Jenny Jo (new)

Jenny Jo Weir I have a few books I would LOVE to see made into movies. Is there somewhere we could vote on this?

message 220: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey Kettelhut (kelseykettelhut) | 10 comments Betti wrote: "Looking for Alaska!

Apparently they already have a movie version of Looking for Alaska in post-production!!! Due to come out this year (2015) :D

message 221: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey Kettelhut (kelseykettelhut) | 10 comments The Secret History by Donna Tartt. Although, maybe there isn't enough outward "action"... but I LOVED that book... one of the few that I wasn't ready to end :'(

message 222: by seth (new)

seth All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr would be an excellent movie I think.

message 223: by W.P. (new)

W.P. Osborn | 1 comments Dana(TheBookWasBetter) wrote: "What books do you wish were a movie? Keep in mind, if these books were made into a movie they might not be our favorites anymore, but dream big! Think mega budget, flawless casting, and a PERFECT s..."

Beach Music by Pat Conroy - It would be epic. Meryl Streep would be involved :)

message 224: by Kit (new)

Kit Ellis (jellyboatpirate) Omg Throne of Glass yes.

But not if they miscast Celaena. And you know, I feel that that would be inevitable… :P

message 225: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (HannahJoLynn) | 11 comments I heard they were making Fallen by Lauren Kate into a movie. Anyone heard anything more about it?
Also, same goes for Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck. I loved this series, but, for the record, if they do end up making this saga into a string of movies, they should fix Kelsey's whiney attitude in the last 2 books.
Why is it that all the good, independent teenage girls in YA fiction always end up complaining about everything? Does anyone else agree with this?

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments I'm not even halfway through yet but I want The Last American Vampire to be made into a movie. A sequel to yet another book-to-film title, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

message 227: by [deleted user] (new)

I rrreeeeaaaallllyyyy want "The Banned and the Banished" series to be made into a movie. It would be SO awesome!

message 228: by pearl. (new)

pearl. (pearl007) Kate wrote: "Omg Throne of Glass yes.

Omg, I would die if they screwed the movie up. The cast would have to be epic and perfect!

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments Mary wrote: "Wicked, now that would be interesting"

Absolutely LOVE the musical but it is so far away from the book. If they are to make this into a movie, I hope they do it like Maleficent. Wicked is really dark... and the musical is quite the opposite of that.

message 230: by Ross (new)

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) | 34 comments I'm hesitant to recommend a beloved book to be butchered by a film adaptation, but that said some have actually been pretty good. I'd love to see A Natural History of Dragons made into a film, purely because how fantastic would a science-based approach to dragons featuring a period costume drama be? It'll be like Downton Abbey meets How to Train Your Dragon with some elements of Dracula, and Indiana Jones thrown in.

message 231: by Janessa S (new)

Janessa S | 2 comments my favorite book-SHUG by Jenny Han should be a movie, because it is set in late summer and i would love to see the romances on the big screen

message 232: by Anna (new)

Anna The Lockwood & co series have their rights bought but nothing is confirmed. But I'd LOVE to see it as a movie ( as long as it won't become another PJO movie)

message 233: by Ross (new)

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) | 34 comments If done right The Locke and Key books would make for a fantastic movie franchise or series!

message 234: by Kristin (new)

Kristin (kikitaranto) | 2 comments I would LOVE to see The Bronze Horseman as a mini series or movie.
Also Juliet Juliet by Anne Fortier would be a great movie!

message 235: by Zeus3713 (last edited Jan 22, 2016 05:21AM) (new)

Zeus3713 (sonofathena) The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles, #1) by Rick Riordan The Throne of Fire (Kane Chronicles, #2) by Rick Riordan The Serpent's Shadow (Kane Chronicles, #3) by Rick Riordan The Kane Chronicles. I love egyptian mythology and I feel that this would be a good movie.

message 236: by Lynsay (new)

Lynsay | 1 comments I, Fatty by Jerry Stahl.

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments I was about to say "The Dinner" by Herman Koch only to realize that there are 2 films about it already.

message 238: by Lyra (new)

Lyra (lyramarvelle) | 25 comments "Legend" (by Marie Lu) should be made into the movie. Oh wait, IT IS!! It begins filming this year!! I think that Tim Burton should totally make "Reckless" (by Cornelia Funke) into a movie...maybe?

message 239: by Lillie (new)

Lillie | 4 comments A Wrinkle In Time

message 240: by Lillie (new)

Lillie | 4 comments The Beduins Gazelle

message 241: by Anika (new)

Anika (anika0602) | 5 comments The Eve series would be amazing as movies!! And the forsaken series.

message 242: by Ross (new)

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) | 34 comments Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series would be eerily epic! Speaking of epic, The Reckoners trilogy might make for a refreshing alternative to superhero films of the moment.

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments Lillie wrote: "A Wrinkle In Time"

There's a TV movie for this book already.

I'm currently reading "Rot & Ruin" by Jonathan Maberry. I kinda dig this more than The Walking Dead even.

message 244: by Tallulah (new)

Tallulah Johnston (tallulah98) | 14 comments I would love to see the;
- The Violet Eden Chapters by Jessica Shirvington because wow
- The Vampire Academy to be re done
- More Than This by Patrick Ness
- The Covenant series by JL Armentrout
- The Immortal Beloved series by Cate Tiernan

message 245: by Eleera (new)

Eleera (eleera) I probably would want to see the Legend series as a movie, but I would probably be disappointed with the result because the books are so good.

message 246: by Jane (new)

Jane Jackson (janejackson91) | 1 comments Hi all, new to this group. Love books, love movies, and am loving the concept of this group.
So I'll kick off with my first comment... The book I have just finished reading, which I have to say I absolutely LOVED -
Once Bitten, Twice Die by Antony Stanton
Once Bitten, Twice Die
A cracking read, and I understand, having read the author's websitee, that it is being mooted by a Hollywood producer at the moment either for film or TV series. I SINCERELY hope it makes it to either, as it would translate sooo well...
And on that note, would you all prefer it (or any other book) to make it to film or TV series? And if you happen to read this particular book, let me know what you think. I'd like to know if it's just me that thinks this way...
JJ

message 247: by [deleted user] (new)

There are so many books I would love to see be made into movies but my top picks would be

Blood of Eden Series
Throne of Glass series (although this would be better as tv)
Easy (by Tammara Webber)
Shatter Me series
All The Rage
Snow Like Ashes

message 248: by Laura (last edited Apr 29, 2016 09:29AM) (new)

Laura Burrows | 2 comments New to Goodreads but a book I would love to be made into a movie is I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes. He's a screenwriter originally and, I think, this was his first published novel. It's obvious why he writes movie scripts. I have never been so 'on the edge of my seat' reading a book than I was reading this one!

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments A Darker Shade of Magic is confirmed to go to TV. Heard it from VE Schwab herself that she's writing the pilot - or have finished it already.

message 250: by Tanya (new)

Tanya | 26 comments Definitely The Red pyramid should be made a movie
