Megan (meganscoils) | 674 comments Do you remember what book hooked you into reading?
Also, what was your first IRR?

When I was in elementary school I always loved reading. My parents read me two books a night, sometimes more. Brown Bear was the first book I ever read by myself and to this day I can still quote it from memory.

In middle school I read ONE book for leisure What My Mother Doesn't Know by Sonya Sones because my best friend said there were "adult themes" in it. I read it in one sitting and about 2 or 3 times after before I returned it to the school's library.

Then in 10th grade basically EVERY girl was reading Flyy Girl by Omar R. Tyree it was over 500 pages and I literally read it in one day (pretty big deal for a non-reader)! Ever since, I've been hooked.

My first IRR was Romiette and Julio by Sharon M. Draper in 7th or 8th grade but I mostly scanned it because I needed AR points for class lol. Then I read Shame on It All by Zane in high school.

I fell in love with reading as a very young child. My mother was a big reader and read to us. We got our first library card at 4 and it's been over for me. Books are still some of my very best friends. :)

Denise | 161 comments I loved reading since I was little, I remember reading whatever I could get my hands on. I first started reading Archie comics, the romance comics all types of comics. I next got into Harlequin romances. My first novels were Shanna by Kathleen Woodiwiss and A Rage Against Heaven by Fred M. Mustard.

I'm 51 now and I can't remember a time in my life where I didn't have a book in my hand.

Danielle, mine too. I've always had a book in my hand. I think Judy Blume wrote my first big books (without pictures) that can remember. First interest in romance addiction was that old Sweet Dreams series P. S. I Love You (Sweet Dreams, #1) by Barbara Conklin If You Love Me (Sweet Dreams, #107) by Barbara Steiner . First grown up romance (filched from mom’s collection) was Moondust and Madness (Saar, #1) by Janelle Taylor . First Interracial was Sandra Kitt The Color of Love by Sandra Kitt Close Encounters by Sandra Kitt , unsure which was read first.

My first romance novel was Fires of Winter and I was hooked on historical romance at the young age of 12. I read my mother's books and I remember how heartbroken I was when she threw them away. I didn't get an allowance regularly, but when I did, I would buy Johanna Lindsey or Jude Deveraux books. :)
