Read Along And Q & A with David Staniforth - Imperfect Strangers - From September 1st
Sean, I asked David and he said he would be happy to come in and out of the thread over a week or so as we read the book, like we did with White is the Coldest Colour and its author John Nicholl. Most if not all of those participants liked that format a lot as compared with traditional Q&A where we ask questions of an author for a few hours after finishing the book. Can we do Imperfect Strangers the way we did White is the Coldest Colour?I have already read the book, but would still be interested in participating. David says he will be having a sale promotion for Imperfect Strangers some time in next few weeks-- that would be a great time to do this and David is very willing to do it then.
Who else is interested in participating?
That's the idea Christine, and I am happy to support David as one of our most loyal and active authors.
Ask David nicely, he might do a special price on Amazon for August.
I have read the book and really enjoyed it.
Plus have another 3-4 member authors wanting to do the same thing, and another collection of authors who are asking to do Q & A.

That's terrific news, Sean, that authors are asking to come to us. That is an incredible honor for our members.
I agree Christine to a point. When regular member ask to do a Q & A, and take part in the group... YES
But mixed feelings for authors asking to do a Q & A, and I did not know they were members as not posted in any posts. That's why I make a point with David, we support David he supports as a group.
But I am doing my best to keep everyone happy, and try to encourage new member authors to take part in the group, then as member we get to know them, and will support them more.
I will open a thread for a vote on our September BOTM and author !

Hi thanks for opening this discussion. Only just seen it as I'm away visiting relatives at the moment. A read in the same style as "White is the coldest colour" would be great, if readers are interested. September may be better than August, in order to arrange the price reduction, etc, and to allow for readers to clear their decks if they want to participate. I'm happy to join in any discussions too. I think it'd be great fun :~)
Yeah, from a reader's standpoint, I would vote for September in order to allow time for everyone to read the Marson books as well as Imperfect Strangers (any everything else a lot of us are already committed to).

The aim I think is to try to make this a monthly feature, or every other month to allow for other commitments. So any volunteers who may be interested should shout out.. I may open up another thread for this.
I read Imperfect Strangers, but i'm very interesting in reading it again with a group :) That would really great!
Alice wrote: "Is this the same David Staniforth as on indie bites? What's that all about?"I did have a short story in a collaborated effort called Indie Bites, if that's what you mean, Alice.
Janet wrote: "The aim I think is to try to make this a monthly feature, or every other month to allow for other commitments. So any volunteers who may be interested should shout out.. I may open up another thre..."Janet, I know at least several people would love this, including me, so thank you!
David Staniforth has kindly agreed to do as what the heading suggests a Read Along and Q&A from September 1st for his book Imperfect Strangers.
Furthermore, the e-book edition will be available to download at a promotional cost of 99p / 99c from September 1st for a period of 7 days.
I hope that after the success of the last 'Read Along' that we did with John Nicholl, that even more participants will join in with the lively discussions and the reading of a good thriller debut from David. (He also writes fantasy!!). I'll be sending a message out in the next few days so the word gets out there, but hopefully regulars will see this post too!!
Jump on board guys, it should be good ..... and I get to tease David!!! And that's always good!! :0))

Thanks, Janet; I'll look forward to the teasing.Thank you, too, to all of you that have already stated an intention to participate. I hope plenty more members join in, as I'm genuinely going to enjoy joining in your discussions on the plot points and language use in my novel.
Hopefully Stefanie, this will continue if it stays popular, and with the votes looks like October will be popular as well.
David's book is great, and I look forward to members comments as well as David's.
Thanks Janet as well for your help

Great to see many members joining in this great new feature to our group.
Great for David, and in the future for our next few authors, hopefully if the demand is there.

I've been a little busy with classes so I've been less frequent here. But thanks for the thought Christine, I appreciate it :)Jan... and some new ones! I'm looking forward to what this book has in store for us :D
Don't forget this starts September.
And Angela Marsons is here on the 25th August for a Q & A as well.
David, hope you are ready for sales to go UP !!

That would be nice, Sean. I'm also looking forward to discussing the book with readers.
David, count me in! It's been some time since I read the book, but I'll follow along, and I'm sure a lot of it will come back to me. (I have a good memory, but it's short LOL).

And thank you.
