Michelle | 4 comments Still reading Silent scream (being busy). A really good read. Very detailed book for a début novel. I love it. Going to try and finish it and start Evil games before the 25th ....

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 1462 comments I finished Silent Scream preatty fast but still don't know if I'll be able to read Evil Games before the 25th. At least I loved the first one and look forward to the Q&A.

Perri | -43 comments Finishing Silent Scream-wondering why Girl Scouts instead of UK Girl Guides?

As far as I know there's Girl Guides as well as Girl Scouts. I think anyways. I used to be a Girl Guide when dinosaurs roamed the earth!

Perri | -43 comments Yeah, I thought it was Girl Guides in the UK-for sure it's Girl Scouts in the US, so I was surprised to see Girl Scouts in this story! Girl Scout First Class and past leader speaking :)

It just seems strange after reading and sometimes not understanding so many UKisms ( the latest-a bacon bap is a sandwich apparently) to find this americanism

Sometimes I think Brit writers throw in Americanisms to appeal to the market. It can get a bit weird. A question for Angela?!! :)

Tracy Quarrell | 369 comments Girls can now join scouts, so it may refer to that. My boy's scout pack has been unisex for a couple of years. Boys can't join Brownie Guides though!!

Yeah I thought as much but wasn't sure. :)

message 62: by Perri (new)

Perri | -43 comments pg 383- definitely Girl Scouts. But I'm interested about girls joining Boy Scouts. Is that at any age? Last time I was involved (in the states), girls, young women really, could only join Explorer packs which are around High School or teenage years.

Tracy Quarrell | 369 comments Hi Perri, In UK girls can join all sections of cub scouts., starting with Beavers at age six, Cubs, Scouts and then explorers for the high school contingent. It's not equal opportunities for Brownie Guides though. It seems to work well in Scouts. I have a cub and two explorers, they have got loads out of being in the organisation, all boys.
