Hi! Right now, I'm reading a book by Laura Weisberger entitled "Last Night at Chateau Marmont." It was given to me by my Korean student :) So far, I'm enjoying it :))

freaky...haha! I kept on picturing PBB..haha!
Actually, the idea for that reality show is based from Orwell's novel. Neat idea, but the show is pretty lame. Haha! :D

Mapag-uusapan na natin. It's a favorite book of mine during high school. It completely ruined what literature is to me. A bigat lang talaga ng teme niya. :)
Hahaa! Sobra... disturbing, absorbing... (asteeeegg! Highschool, Fyodor Dostoevsky)Interesting character si Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov, esp. his theory on crime... kuya(?), ire-report ko kasi ang C&P in our Continental Litt., anong anggulo po ng novel ang interesting na i-discuss? ^_____^V

Since you asked for, eto, oh:
Relate to the novel the idea of Superhuman based on the philosophy of Freidrich Nietzche to Raskolnikov's character.
Where does reason ends and morality begins?
Can there be such persons that we may consider above man's laws among others? A class in and of themselves?
How are dreams used in the novel to foreshadow the fate of Raskolnikov? And can it be said therefore that before Sigmund Freud, Fyodor Dostoyevsky was the very first psychologist?

Hehee! Salamat ulit!
Done with Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Next to read: Perfume: The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Süskind
And next to that would be: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

This puts Freud into shame. The dream distortion was really displayed for understanding. The mechanism of wish-fulfilments, fear, and symbolisms were really showed in each of his character's dreams. Freud must have been really influenced much by Sir Fyodor. Freud even stated that the book The Brothers Karamazov contained all Psychology. And Freud wrote something about Dostoyevsky. I am now wondering why Sir Fyodor's books were not discussed in our Psychology Classes. I haven't even heard his name.
The book showed how dangerous it is to think of yourself as an Overman(as Nietzsche coined it) or an Extraordinary man(as Sir Fyodor coined) more or less, they're the same. Dostoyevsky's was just more on the nihilistic side.
It's damn heavy book to read. ahahahaha. It should be required to be read by all Psych Majors(Freud is almost too overrated yet most of his works were misunderstood)
I would be reading: The Brothers Karamazov, whenever I get my hands on it.
Just finished:
MEN and DOGS by Judith Watt
Started right away:
THE TRICK IS TO KEEP BREATHING by Janice Galloway

Yet, they're actually pretty close. One can never love Psychology or human nature if they don't have the same love for literature and history. It involves both. But now, as much as the present is concerned, Psychology is becoming clinical and industrial. Going farther from the basic yet very intriguing and puzzling human nature.
can anyone recommend a book?? a good one please ... thanks :))

yey! there are various theories and approaches that can be applied to literature, and one of those is the psychological approach. Under the psych. approach, there are numerous models like those of Freud, Jung and Lacan. These theories and approaches underpin the depth of your understanding of a piece of literature... and that's one of the good things about being a literati--you're a part psychologist, part philosopher, part sociologist, part anthropologist... a bit of this and that! But the point is, a piece of literature, anumang pagdulog, is meant to be appreciated (and sometimes abhorred!? Hehee ^__________^).
