message 1875: by Tricia (new)

Tricia (triciuhhh) | 1752 comments I might be late reading Percy Jackson (Book1) but man, the book is exhausting. Sunod-sunod naman yung attack ng monsters! And, the more I read, the more I hate the movie. Which I hated already.

KWESI: I have not tried Sidney Sheldon. Parang masyadong masa.

message 1886: by Roxanne (new)

Roxanne Walls (caffeineanddesperation) | 6 comments @KD: Thanks :D BTW, Sidney Sheldon has good books. Maganda ang kanyang writing style. :Db

message 1887: by K.D. (new)

K.D. Absolutely (oldkd) | 6065 comments Yes, I believe you. I dunno. I have the tendency to stay away from authors whose books are too many. I have an impression that their books are either: formulaic or they have ghost writers (which for me is dishonesty).

Besides, there are many other authors and as much as possible, I would like to try them all.

Having said that I know I will read a Sheldon someday. I fancy his "The Other Side of Midnight" but I still wait for a old very cheap copy.

message 1888: by kwesi 章英狮 (new)

kwesi 章英狮 (kwesifriends) | 2752 comments My high school classmates were fond of reading books of Sidney Sheldon and I just collected them for almost 4 years and I read 3 so far. Everything change, my taste for Sidney failed me.

Remmy, I think his writing style is normal, like he was writing a script, but the interesting part is when he added some psychological facts that maintains the creepiness and intense thrill between characters. He always got this odd twist in the end.

message 1889: by Jenna (new)

Jenna (jennachristy) | 35 comments I just finished "Where She went" by Gayle Forman. super nice.

now reading "Shiver" by Maggie Stiefvater(:

I agree with the formulaic thing. The very reason I ditched Danielle Steel. I still shudder whenever I think about the dozen books of hers that I read voraciously back in high school.

Krizia Anna (krizia_lazaro) | 520 comments KWESI: I have not tried Sidney Sheldon. Parang masyadong masa."

message 1892: by kwesi 章英狮 (last edited Apr 22, 2011 07:41AM) (new)

Currently Reading ---> Coming Out by Danielle Steel

message 1893: by K.D. (new)

O may kurso syang psychology?

message 1894: by kwesi 章英狮 (new)

Nagtrabaho din yata siya as scriptwriter sa Hollywere before he start writing novels.

Veneficus (veneficus_) | 277 comments finished reading Unwind by Neal Shusterman. Grabe! Whoaaa! Highly recommended!

Next book: Heroes of Olympus: The Lost Hero or The Ask and the Answer. Depende sa mood, haha. Have a nice weekend to all.

*poof*
