This book is really memorable to me because this is one of the books that I purchased from the largest floating bookstore, the M.V. Doulos, last year when it docked in Manila. I really have no idea what this book is about at first, but the persons at my back are madly scrambling and searching for this book. So when I was able to saw one I grabbed it just for kicks.
Just a tid bit of trivia, Rosenberg came to our country a year ago I think to give a talk to a conference but I wasn't able to attend.
I just picked this book up because I want something 9/11 related in commemoration for that sad, dark day.
Rant end...

Yes, it's fiction. Some way that Rosenberg writes like Clancy or Ludlum for that matter.

ahh..i'l try to look for that book.

Just try sometime it's a nice way to know how the US military operates.Yoy get to know about real military hardware and meet believable protagonists. You have got to meet Mr John Clark. ;-)

Ditto, Matrim.
In the novel that I'm reading I gleamed that the US Military is totally disciplined, their networks well coordinated (though it there's a few row or two between each of the department heads).
I think it's readily available at any NBS branch and it's cheap for only 300 or below for it's locally published and distributed by OMF Literature. And I forgot to mention that it's a series of five books and really some of the speculations of book really happened. I don't know what's with this Rosenburg dude but some say he's the modern day Nostradus when it comes to postulating what ever is happening at the Middle East.
Goo luck Matrim!
My warm regards and happy reading...

"The Bourne Identity," the first in the Bourne Series is good. I first read it in high school and watched the made for TV film adaptation which I thought nail and conveyed what the book is really all about. Although Mr. Robert Chamberlain (I dunno if he's the one who played Jason Bourne in the adapatation) too old for my taste to play Jason. Unlike the Matt Damon, the older version is grounded on reality without the action slickness of the newer one. The thing with the Matt Damon version is they added stories and deleted some that are essential to the book and/or plot originally. For crying out lout Carlos is not the real enemy! I dunno if you'll enjoy the Bourne, but I did enjoyed back then when I was gullible with nothing decent to read with all the action and the conspiracies/mysteries that's happening.
And in my opinion Jason Bourne is my idea of a real spy when I was wee lad during high school, not James Bond which my father was fond of. Ahehehe... :D

Ditto, Matrim.

The Bourne Series is also really good. They have different appeal though.I like Tom Clancy since he's more modern and the books he make you can still see that it is happening or might still happen yet.I love Jason Bourne but he is too unrealistic sometimes unlike Mr John Clark, a tough guy, but still very human. If you want to read Robert Ludlum try the "The Icarus Agenda" it's a very nice book ;-)

I love Matt Damon's portrayal of Bourne. I actually did not know it was originally a book or else I have re..."
It's a lot cooler in the movies too since they used a Filipino martial arts Kali/Eskrima as Jason Bourne's fighting technique.Makes us Filipinos appear more Bad ass ;-)

Hi Kaipea! I think Fully Booked may still have some copies of this. If they don't, you can always request for it and they'll text you when they get copies. :)

@Tina: :P Yeah, I'll check the store out from time to time it will pop out someday.

I just recently finished reading "Heroes of the Valley" (given by Ace). I liked how the main character "Halli" was not the typical flawless hero, rather the opposite which makes you able to relate to him more. It's a light read and quite humorous too, with a bit of romance, doses of historical myths and a lot of fun. Enjoy reading KaiPea! :)

I was inspired by this month's theme so I think this is the right time to pick this one up.
Happy reading everyone! ^_^

Actually, I'm planning to read that next to this. Well since the book didn't make the cut in this month's nomination.
Why did you lost interest in the book, Emir?

I'm interesed, Kuya! For further reading to the Franks family.

I just love Guillermo Del Toro's movies, so I figured I'd give his book a try. I've heard raves of this book from horror fans, so I'm really excited for this.
I'll let you know how it is.

And as it seems that the sequel of the book is already out in bookstores...

I also liked his move "Pan's Labyrinth," btw.

I have a copy too, but never had a chance to touch it since I bought it. I'll be glad to hear your opinions on it.
