I loved it too! It's definitely darker and D'Albret is so much worse in this one! That's all I'm going to say! So I'll shut up now or spoilers will start flying! And we can't have that! Enjoy! :D

Sorry Mandiann, I've been so busy the past two days I didn't see this. I'm okay with moving it too but it's one of my copycat reads. I need to finish it by the 28th. LOL Is it doable for you if we move it to Feb. 21? We can leave this thread but change the date. It looks like it's just you and me. LOL

I just started and am one chapter in. my book has a wonderful map and a lovely list of the cast of characters at the front of the book!

I just finished chapter 6. I am really enjoying that this book is from Sybella's POV but I (view spoiler)[ seem to be constantly fearing for her. I remembered that D'albret was a monster but to hear the intimate details of how terrible he is sickening. (hide spoiler)]

I already read about half of this last year as I said in the sprint thread, but I've forgotten most of it. I'm in chapter 4 this time.

The duchess's "army" of (view spoiler)[12 were quite impressive! I can't imagine how they held off such a huge army for so long! Courageous for sure. (hide spoiler)]

I remember reading book 1 and thinking it was too confusing, but I absolutely loved it! Reading it with others helped, of course. And Trisha and some other readers raved over book 2. She doesn't rave easily, so I am sure this is an amazing book too. I am loving it so far, except for the godawful male character(s) who are such pigs!

But this series does have some really amazing male characters as well. I know though, the ones you are referring to are horrible creatures.

I read book one on my kobo from my library and it did not have the map or list of characters that my hardcover copy of book two has. I am really enjoying those 4 pages and find myself flipping to them regularly.
