Brenna (brebooklover) I just finished The Good Girl by Mary Kubica . This book was great! I loved it. It made me cry in the lunch room at work though.

I've never 'read' an audio book.

message 307: by Brooke (new)

Brooke (brookeluvsbooks) If the reader is good it can be better than the actual book and they are good for long car rides

I think my attention span works against me with audio things. My mind will wander and I'll miss crucial stuff.

Heartless (Parasol Protectorate, #4) by Gail Carriger

(Luckily, the library let me recheck-out Timeless, so I have more time to read it. And Etiquette & Espionage was waiting for me at the library, so I'll be able to start it immediately after!)

I'm sorry. I remember when Borders closed. That was my favourite store to visit when I would visit the US.

Thanks.

I've applied to other bookstores locally, but no luck. At least, not yet. :(

I've had a couple of jobs since then, but one of them only lasted a month. The other was Walmart... o.O

message 322: by Nicqui (new)

Nicqui | 66 comments I know what you mean. I've been doing a never-ending series of temp jobs. I'm in one now for almost a year that pays me practically nothing. I can't afford to leave it but I can't actually live on it either.

message 323: by Nikita (new)

Nikita Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee and World After (Penryn & the End of Days, #2) by Susan Ee

sadly I can relate to you nicqui and lura. I only work part time and it's not enough to live on. I recently had two job interviews. One is for a government job, which I really want. So I hope you guys find something too it's not fun at all. :(

message 325: by Nicqui (new)

Nicqui | 66 comments I've applied to several jobs in various departments/offices of my government but they take forever to decide anything so I'm not expecting to hear from them anytime soon, even if I get an interview.

Then other places I apply to are concerned that I'm overqualified because I have a degree. Nevermind the fact that I would just like a steady full-time job so anywhere so that I can finally start my life.

It's so frustrating!

It is frustrating. While I'm waiting, I'm trying to do some online copywriting jobs to at least make a little bit of money.

It is crappy I had an interview with them last week and I have to wait another week to hear if I got it or not. Do you know anyone who works for the government? They can help you apply. I am also either underqualified or overqualified it's no fun.

message 328: by Nicqui (new)

Nicqui | 66 comments My mom works for the government but that doesn't help them move their process along any faster. It's just how they are. It's a wonder anything gets done.

I loved her Parasol Protectorate series so much, I dove right into her Finishing School series! I read the first book in a single sitting.
