Amanda (randymandy) That is all.

message 2: by Dave (new)

Dave Russell Well, we haven't voted, so maybe it's not too late. Weren't we supposed to do that yesterday?

message 3: by [deleted user] (last edited Jul 05, 2009 09:35AM) (new)

EDIT: It's not too late to fill them out, Mandy! Fill out the surveys! We want to know you more.

I'll make the poll for voting today and declare the winner on Saturday.

smetchie | 5729 comments Well where were you?!?

message 5: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Ughhhhh, there's voting involved, too? DAMN! Ok, I guess I'd better read the surveys already. Fizz-uck, yo.

Gretchen, I was... Well, I don't really know where I was. Doin' stuff, I guess. I get distracted easliy. :-/

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, and fill them out! There are only four. :(

message 7: by Dave (new)

Dave Russell Amanda's been paddling a French broad.

message 8: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) And I got totally wet...

message 9: by Tom (new)

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) Amanda's been paddling a French broad.
And I got totally wet...

I hate that i know (well, i can guess) what that really means and saw past what it was written to imply. Won't ruin it for anyone else, tho.

message 10: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) And I was gonna show you pictures and everything...
Never mind, then.

:)

That too.

message 15: by Tom (new)

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) Ok, i'll spoil it, but only because it's Kasia. The French Broad is a river in western North Carolina. (French, i've always supposed, to distinguish it from the Broad River in central South Carolina).

message 16: by Kasia (new)

Kasia Thanks Tom!!!

And I still want to see the pictures, don't you thing you'll get out of it this easy Amanda!

message 17: by Amanda (last edited Jul 07, 2009 04:12AM) (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Can you see this?

message 18: by Amanda (last edited Jul 07, 2009 04:20AM) (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Hmm... I'm guessing you can't...

Edit: Yay! The river posted!
Anyway, we went rafting. And never learned why the river is French, so I can only suppose Tom is right about that...

message 19: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Me looking dorky:

Amanda (randymandy) Me with cute boy (albeit, both looking a bit dorky):

message 22: by Kasia (new)

Kasia Awesome shots!! I wish I was on that river. But you must have got some serious tan after that.

message 23: by [deleted user] (last edited Jul 07, 2009 07:06AM) (new)

I love white-water rafting! I haven't done it in soooooo long!

You and boy are cuuuuuuuute.

message 24: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) We had lots and lots of fun! Come to NC on August 1st--we're going again for my friend Bill's 40th bday. I wish we were going tomorrow.

I put on lots and lots of sunscreen, but I'm a moron. It wasn't waterproof. Oops. So yes, my pasty white skin is now slightly less pasty! :)

message 25: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 5729 comments I was going to ask about that. you are glowing in some of those pictures. You should use the Coppertone baby sunscreen in the pink bottle. It's spf 50 and waterproof and appears to be magic.

Amanda (randymandy) Dudes!!!!!!! I totally forgot to tell you...
When Zeke and I got back from paddling that wet hot French broad, we went walking around in an old cemetery and look what we found:

Reads with Scotch a pile of leaves?

a gum wrapper?

message 28: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Can you really not see what's in those leaves? IT'S IN A CEMETERY!

message 29: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 5729 comments spooky! one got out.

Reads with Scotch Well I can't SEE anything but I am feeling bones... drink more I think were almost inline.

message 31: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Nick, it worked!

Gretchen, it was suuuuuper spooky. I took those pictures and then left. Zeke wanted to stay there and look for a skull, but I got the hell out before I got eaten alive by zombies.

Reads with Scotch nothing spooky about vertebra... it's not like they are femur bones... or ribs.

message 33: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Au contraire! There was a rib! SPOOKY!

Reads with Scotch ewe, ok it was good to run then.

message 35: by Kasia (new)

Kasia Should have taken the skull!!! I know I would (take it). I mean how often do you stumble upon human skulls? NEVER!!! So I know, it's a little creepy, but still cool.

message 36: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) I'm glad he didn't find a skull. I would have had nightmares for months.

message 37: by Kasia (new)

Kasia Damn! Should have read the thread more carefully. I thought you did find the skull... But even without the skull, it's still an impressive find. And since, you say, it saved you from having nightmares - all the better.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

I love bones*. I would have wanted that vertebra, but probably would have left it out of respect. But I would have wanted it.

I have barrettes made from the foot bones of coyotes.

*That's what she said.
