The Hitchhiker 01 – Chapters 1-7 (Week One)

Here we actually start to read the book. The first session consists of the author's introduction (optional, depending on the edition of the book you have) and the first seven chapters of the novel.

Therefore, spoilers and laughs are here allowed only for this very first part of the book :)

"Look, don't you understand?" shouted Arthur. He pointed at Prosser. "That man wants to knock my house down!"
Ford glanced at him, puzzled.
"Well, he can do it while you're away, can't he?"

Finished last night the seventh chapter. Although it was really funny, it's impossible to really distinguish what is so funny. Impossible. It simply is funny, as a whole.

What do you think of:
A) the Guide itself. Was it actually the first e-book reader ever mentioned? This was written in 1979!
B) a Babel Fish, would it be neat thing to have around for real?
C) towels. Really? Good to know that :)
D) Don't Panic. That phrase should be written on every wall, seriously...

I finished the book a couple of weeks ago and it has since gone back to the library, so I don't remember what happened in what chapter. But when watching the movie, the babel fish scene gave me the shivers! I don't do very well with slimy things. Useful yes. Worth having a slimy thing live in my ear? Not so sure. :)
