Discussion for 2nd third of Oryx and Crake

Jimmy/Snowman's coming of age story after the high school years was downright depressing. Clearly a commentary on society. I found it a bit hard to get through.

Margaret Attwood clearly was a bit down on society while writing this book. There's a lot of darkness in it. The discussions of Oryx are particularly troubling. I like that kind of weight though, when it has meaning.
