Tou Xiong I find this book to be a very entertaining read. A lot of readers are critical of this book for being a political message to abolish the death penalty. I don't think that was the intention of this book. I personally think this book is a reminder that not all prisoners are bad and that not all government workers are good. And that not every story can have a happy ending. If you want happy endings go watch a Disney movie.

Jeffery Lee Radatz I happen to like all John Grisham novels, but you can tell there is a common thread that runs through them. Grisham's is against the death penalty. I happen to agree with him to a point. There are times that someone spends years in prison for a crime they did not commit. Where is the evidence? Sometimes the evidence is not there and a person either goes to jail or on death row on hearsay! Then again, someone who has no heart and emotion for taking another person's life probably needs to not be on this earth anymore!
