From the librarian manual I see:
Books with multiple authors

"Goodreads currently allows up to 50 authors per book. Authors should be listed in the order they appear on the book cover. If there is no cover or covers of various editions differ, use alphabetical order.

For compilations that include both editors and authors, please list the editors first and then other contributors.

Please note that editors should only be added for records like anthologies and reference materials. Novels and other works of fiction should not have editors listed."

I ask because I keep seeing books written by both Charlotte Elkins and Aaron Elkins being listed with Aaron's name first. Despite every edition of their joint books having Charlotte's name first (with the exception of On the Fringe and Where Have All the Birdies Gone? - which have Aaron's name first; and Nasty Breaks and Rotten Lies - which have no cover editions).

All of these books, every edition, has Charlotte's name listed first: A Dangerous Talent, A Cruise to Die For, The Art Whisperer, A Wicked Slice

I changed A Dangerous Talent to reflect the manual, but didn't change the others when I spotted so many had/have Aaron first. To double check that there is not some exception I'm unaware of.

The two that have Aaron first on a few editions, mentioned above, would not be changed. Due to manual rules. Similarly, the two lacking cover's would have Aaron first, due to the manual.

All editions of a work should have the same name listed first. So if there are any covers, go with the order on the oldest for all editions.

Oh, I was misreading that "no covers" as meaning if any edition lacked a cover, as opposed to "no covers at all". Right, so Nasty Breaks and Rotten Lies should be changed then, as every edition that has a cover has it Charlotte then Aaron Elkins.

Thanks. :)
