Wow, things happened so fast I didn't know where to update lol. I wonder what's happening to Mal? I really liked how the romantic interest was there off the bat (usually it takes forever). Maybe it won't break their relationship but he's lying to her about something. I get the feeling that Apparat might actually have something important to say but he's so creepy lol. Mal is finally back! It's very Hunger Games love triangle to me (hide spoiler)]

She was drawn in to his power at first, and I think that's something that he never gets. Regardless, he sucks! Thank goodness Mal was okay, I'm glad she was able to gain control of her power like that! (hide spoiler)]

I definitely felt conflicted right along with Alina on whether to believe the old lady who had been so hard on her during training, but it worked and made the story more interesting. I was curious before this happened on where the plot was going, but revealing the Darkling as the bad guy really turned everything on it's head! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I felt the same. I was conflicted that Alina had to sacrifice innocents along with those that had no problem with the Darkling's plan. However it also felt like she didn't have another options that ended up with her being able to survive to oppose the Darkling. Hoping she and Mal meet up with some other badasses so they can return and kick some butt. (hide spoiler)]

I'd love to read the rest of the series too. i picked this one up because Six of Crows was recommended to me, but I noticed some of the reviews said they had a rough time understand the world and the Grisha element so i figured i would read this series first. :)

I read Six of Crows (and Crooked Kingdom) first myself actually XD

It definitely was really confusing at first, but there was a surprisingly large element of "world building" in it to describe the Grisha and other elements of the series so after a little while you do get the information needed to understand the novels. Slow build-up though.

Probably is smarter to start off with this trilogy ;D I'm curious to see how things turn out for reading it in a backwards fashion :P

I'm excited to get to Six of Crows. I love how each chapter is a different character, kind of like Game of Thrones. The audio book has a different narrator for each character so i may have to try out the audiobook for that one.

Yep!

I really loved that about Six of Crows. It really gave some incredible insight into each of the characters and their motivations.

I had no idea the audiobook had a different narrator for each though - that sounds pretty incredible!

(Fun fact: while attempting to type I somehow activated a shortcut on my keyboard and changed the language my typing was showing as to Arabic and then spent a good 10 minutes attempting to fix it :P)
