Emily We'd like to avoid members inflating their own reviews using multiple accounts. Could you send us details to the support email address? We'll address as soon as possible.

Marcy (marshein) | 214 comments When I saw this I got nervous, since I just did something similar but not so I could load myself with good phony reviews! I gave all my books 5 star reviews already, openly and honestly! Hey, if I don't like my books, who will? Anyhow, I have ten books of erotica I edited, and 5 books I've written, plus a few more anthologies to which I've contributed. I wanted to move the edited books so they wouldn't dominate my page and overshadow my own writing. So a librarian made me a second author page using only my first initial with my same, real last name. When I saw this topic, as stated, I got nervous. I don't see anything wrong with what I did, and I hope nobody else does either.

Alex (ucbstirling) | 140 comments Hi Marcy and all,

I just wanted to clarify your specific situation a bit. Because these books have your name on the cover, we actually have to keep them linked to your main profile. We can keep the M. Sheiner name as a separate list of your edited works, but we'll have to include your primary author name in the records as well. The good news is that by listing you as a secondary author on these works, we can keep your own writing listed above them on your Author Page. Sorry for the confusion-- I know you'd been discussing this with our staff, but we do need to stick to our librarian guidelines. If you have further questions, please write to support at goodreads dot com

Marcy (marshein) | 214 comments My Author Page was revamped using the two names and two pages several days ago. I'm very happy with it the way it is now.

Amy (amypkennedy_amiekandrews) | 3 comments Hi All,
I recently added my pseudonym to Goodreads but now I'm listed only as that name. How do I get the 2 combined as Marcy did? Do I need to contact support again?

As per this discussion, I don't think it's unethical to support your own work, either. You are definitely your greatest fan and that's more than half the battle. If you don't enjoy your own work, then why bother writing at all?

I think most people are uncomfortable with self-promotion. It's revealing, and puts a person in a vulnerable position. But folks, as soon as you put fingers to the keyboard and posted online, you've made an official announcement about You. Rather fun, isn't it? :)

Actually, would you mind writing to support at goodreads dot com with a bit more information?

Amy (amypkennedy_amiekandrews) | 3 comments I'll do it today! FYI, I originally signed up with my Facebook account on Goodreads and recently requested to participate in the author program. I think what happened is that my only book on the site right now is under my pen name so it got switched. I also write under my real name so I'd like to have a combined account, if possible.
