Just one book, from kindergarten to the end of high school or later I think.
It was Class Pictures by Marilyn Sachs. Thanks so much!
Book about two friends who meet in kindergarten. One has dark hair and eyes and the other I think is either blonde or redhead with apple cheeks. Brunette bites her cheek thinking it's an apple. Brunette finds out later in her school years that her blonde blue eyed parents can't be her parents and that she has a different dad. Brunette lives in apartment and is poor, other girl is well off I believe.
Her grandmother is living with her and has started dating again.
Friends drift apart and brunette becomes friendly with a girl that they didn't like because she was rough. I think that girl lost a boyfriend in a car crash.
