Do we have enough historical characters to serve as heroes for thrillers today?

Krishna, Chanakya, Jesus, Ravana, Noor Jahan....Do we have enough characters in our history and mythology to act as heroes in modern day thrillers?

I think yes....Indian history is vast and magnificent.....with so many astonishing heroes....both good and bad. They can serve as perfect heroes for modern day thrillers....what do u think??

That's true but are we relying way too much on mainstream stories and characters like Ramayana, Mahabharata, Shiva, Mughals etc....how long can you keep mining the same tracts again and again?

yeah that's there....maybe authors can explore more of Indian history....I mean, India has a larger history than most other countries....authors could make use of that.

Yes, there are! Some of them are unknown, or probably lost in mists of the time. My modern, mystery crime thriller novel(with little bit of romance) presents one such analogy to an event that happened in mythology The Curse To Ashwathama

I've included the names of some unsung heroes in my books. There's one historical book set in the Isle of Wight off the south coast of England and I have named some of the characters after code-breakers at Bletchley Park, where they toiled in secrecy to break the enemy codes. It is said they shortened World War 2 by as much as two years. They were never publicly thanked until recently when most had died! So I've given them a place in my book.

So what I am saying is that there are plenty of unsung heroes we can use if we dig around. Happy hunting!
