Broken Dove question

So far I have read all series and realised maddie in 4th book is the only one who did practically nothing she was not independent or helped others yes she was a mother to chris and Ellen but that was it and what I found annoying was through out the whole book she complained about how useless she was yet she did nothing about it yes Apollo said he'd love her just the way she was then what she's like great let's do nothing again plus pop some children I hated this about the 4 book I mean all of the heroine were independent then they lost there independence but the become independent in each book by there own expect from maddie . Like Circe she was emotionally supporting people in Lahn land , plus she did magic, she fighter,fennie was adventure she also fighted, learned new things like sward and arrow play , she emotionally council Apollo , Cora nursed a bird to health , she also helped a women by taking care of her the women gran for a few hours, she fighted .see what I mean maddie was the one who complained the most yet did the least
