I think it's so sweet of Brendan to send Ivy a video of him saying he loves her in the book Love Bites !
I think everyone loves Brendan :) . He's great. I loved it in Love Bites when he was shopping for a valentines present for Ivy and she was following him.
Yep, Brendan is one of my favourite characters. :)

I have to admit, since the latest book (Secrets and Spies), my love of Brendan went down a bit. I know it was all just a misunderstanding, but I can't get over the fact that he went out of his way to not confide in Ivy, when he knows he can trust her and that she would find out anyway. Plus, and I know we've mentioned this a lot before: why all the STARING?! (at Maya)
I agree I hope Brendan returns to his normal self in the next book!
I expect he will, because he hasn't got a big secret anymore.
In Fangtastic Brendan says "No more secrets though, OK?" to Ivy, but then keeps a big secret from her in Secrets and Spies! Tsk tsk, why Brendan, why?! Yes I'm obsessing over this. I really need to stop!
Recently we've been talking in the Fangs for the Memories (MSTV#18) spoiler thread about possible future storylines for Brendan, and we wondered about whether he should get (or we should learn about) some new hobbies of his. I recently read a Middle Grade book which had a teenage guy character who was really into make-up in it, which I thought was really cool. So how about something like that for Brendan? He could maybe start getting into it more and Ivy and Olivia think it's sort of weird, then it ends up somehow being the exact thing they need to save the day (classic Sienna Mercer) and they realise it's cool? Or do you think this would seem like too much of a change in character in him?
He's also mentioned before he likes science, and wants to be a scientist when he grows up. Maybe a storyline with that? Like, off the top of my head, if he got a lab partner who the twins were suspicious of for some reason, and he has to investigate them in his class. Or the suspicious thing could be in the class, and Brendan's the one to tell the twins about it? I don't know. There's so many possibilities!
Over in that thread I said I would have a think about hobbies for Brendan and I did, I even researched to find ideas but no luck, I couldn't come up with anything good. Daisy to the rescue though, your ideas are killer! ;)I think the make-up idea really suits Brendan because I've always imagined him wearing eyeliner to match the whole vampire, black clothes gothic look. He would totally rock it! Not really sure how make-up is going to save the day but I'm sure Sienna Mercer could come up with something!
I forgot Brendan likes science. There's lots of ways to use that. Mixing it with the ideas you had in the Fangs for the Memories thread maybe he could be experimenting and then something goes wrong and Bethany ends up getting poisoned or injured then Ivy, Olivia and the gang have to find a remedy and/or look after her while also helping Brendan with his experiment. Or maybe he has to finish the experiment to know why she's ill and to find out how to cure here. Or she has an unrelated-to-his-experiment vampire illness but then they realise he's making a perfect cure or something. I don't know, you're right there are so many possibilities!
Thanks, dude! Oh, wow, I never thought about Brendan wearing eyeliner but you're right, he might do (if not on an everyday basis I can imagine him doing it for special occasions). I just remembered also in Take Two (MSTV#5) Brendan demonstrates his knowledge of fashion by pointing out Charlotte's bag was a cheap rip-off of a designer brand - so maybe it's not so inconsistent with his character that he might like make-up? He said he learnt about that from Bethany, so maybe she could've got him into make-up too. That would mean more Bethany inclusion too - so it's two birds with one stone!Haha, I'm not sure how make-up could save the day either but you're right, Sienna Mercer could find a way I'm sure.
Wow, that's deep about him experimenting on Bethany! It does sound kind of similar to how Ivy made that remedy for Brendan's illness in Flying Solo (MSTV#11) though, so maybe something different? :)
Oh yes I forgot about the rip-off bag incident. It all comes together quite nicely! I was thinking more like he was doing an experiment and then she was nosey and/or inquisitive and messed with something resulting in an injury or ilness of some sort not that he was experimenting on her! You're right the remedy idea is kind of similar to other story lines though.
Hmm....Somehow, i couldn't imagine Brendan wearing an eye liner or any makeup at all(except, maybe, he'll wear makeup only on Halloween to fit in with the character he's dressing up for). Not all goth guys wear makeup, btw. As for Brendan's knowledge of fashion in Take Two, i always consider it as a result of him being an awesome older bro to Bethany i.e. listening to his little sister explaining about a certain topic she likes(fashion, in this case), even though he's not interested in it. An example in real life would be like an older brother listening to his little sister explaining Barbie and Ken's complicated relationship.

Sophie, that's good because him experimenting on her might be a little out of character for him! lolS!X, I agree in my headcanon Brendan doesn't wear make-up, but as it's a pretty common goth thing to do I wouldn't be surprised if it was mentioned in the books that he did. Likewise with his fashion knowledge - it could be interpreted either way I think, though again I'm in agreement with you - it feels more likely that that incident demonstrates Brendan's awesome big brother skills rather than a secret love for fashion! You never know though, haha. It's interesting how we all can interpret the characters differently. :)

In Fangtastic! (MSTV #2) it is mentioned that Brendan is at band practice. I don't know if this a mandatory school thing he had to do or a friends hanging out sort of band but I imagine it's the latter. The music/band thing is done a lot in MBTW so it's not a story line I want to be returned to, just something I thought was semi-interesting to note.
