Hi Ana, thanks for posting your updates!

Enemies to lovers means pretty much just what it says...main characters who start out as enemies (or at least disliking each other) and end up falling in love. I took a quick peek at your To Read shelf and found a couple that fit, Dragon Bound and Halfway to the Grave. Both can be found on the Enemies to Lovers shelf, here: https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/.... Anything on that shelf will qualify, as well as anything on any of the shelves listed here: https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/.... Just be sure to list which shelf you find your book on, or if the theme is made clear in the precis, of course! :D Good luck, I hope you can find something that interests you!

~KarenH~ | 11383 comments Week 4: Offside (The Barker Triplets, #1) by Juliana Stone Offside - 3/8/14, 3.5 Stars

I enjoyed this book, the characters were intriguing and it touched on a couple of issues not normally addressed in your typical romance novel (sports-related concussions and early onset dementia), but I had some issues with the writing style and/or editing. I'm sure I will continue the series though, just to find out if this wildly dysfunctional family can possibly be fixed!

Tina (whitley97) | 232 comments Week 5: Tangled (Tangled, #1) by Emma Chase Tangled 3/10/14 5 Stars

WOW!!! I want to kick myself for waiting so long to read this book!!! I loved it, what a breatch of fresh air to read a funny book from a male POV. Drew and Kate are great together it is just getting them together that proves to be the hard part! Can't wait for the next book to come out!

~KarenH~ | 11383 comments Wow Tina, you're quick! I loved Tangled too, and Holy Frigging Matrimony: A Tangled Series Short Story was also good, not quite AS good, but cute and filled the gap waiting for the next book. At least there's only a couple more weeks until Twisted is released - yay! Although knowing me I won't get to it right away...oh, well...

I got the short story and was going to wait until closer to the release of Twisted to read it. A few weeks YEAH!!! I'll probably get it but not read it for awhile I do that all the time!!

I loved this book! it seems i like this paranormal romance-urban fantasy mix of genres. the only thing i didn't appreciate is that it has a lot in common with another book i read from this genre, which was written a few years before this one

message 115: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11383 comments It should be posted in just over 2 hours...assuming Jane's not busy or running late. She gave herself a 3 hour window to get it posted each week (6-9 PM EDT), but so far she's managed to post it right at the beginning of that window every time.

~KarenH~ | 11383 comments Week 5: Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night (Immortals After Dark, #4) by Kresley Cole Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night 3/14/14 - 4 stars

I don't know why I always seem to take such long breaks between books in this series, because I always enjoy them. I loved watching Bowen and Mari fight against what they believed to be the truth and learn to trust their instincts and accept their love for each other. I listened to the audio version, and as usual Robert Petkoff did a wonderful job with the narration. I need to not wait so long before moving on to the next book!

Option 2 key date: 13 September 2013

Here's Jane's hint for finding books on your bookshelves that work:

To work out which of your books on your 'to read' (or any other shelf for that matter) qualify for 'less than 200 ratings':

* go to your 'to read' bookshelf;
* select settings
* Tick the 'num ratings' box
* Click on 'save current settings to your to read shelf'

Then browse through you book lists for books that will work :P

I really, really liked this book.
It was fun, sweet, sexy and just a great experience.
Both main characters are interesting, I liked that Pia didn't take Dragos too seriously, and him finding out how fun arguing could be and her just being furious?, that was hilarious.

Can't wait for the next one, I won't let it sit for that long on my TBR.

Lili | 343 comments Week 6 - Assets (Balance Sheet, #1) by Shannon Dermott Assets 03/15***

Quick read, quite sexy.
Writing was fine, a few mistakes but nothing too bad.

The plot has nothing new to it but it still works, I do think it could've been handled better the way Bailey found out about Kalen, come on!, he has a ton of money, lives in a palace, travels the world for work... why did it take her so long to figure out/wonder about what he does for a living?

Don't hesitate to ask if you need help finding books for future weeks - our tastes are pretty different, but choosing books to fit the rules of a challenge is one of my favorite parts, and I enjoy snooping through other people's bookshelves, so I'm happy to help!

This book has been bubbling up and down my TBR for years, and I'm so glad I finally got around to reading it. In a lot of ways it was just your average historical romance, but there were enough little quirks and differences to keep it interesting. I liked the characters a lot, and really enjoyed the snippets of fairy tale at the beginning of each chapter. I listened to the audio version, and thought the narrator, Moira Quirk, did an excellent job. I'm looking forward to continuing the series.

Lili | 343 comments Week 7 - Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake (Love By Numbers, #1) by Sarah MacLean Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake 03/23****

Grat start for a new series, I really enjoyed reading this book.
Callie is a great character, strong and smart but sweet and with a sense of humor; and Ralston is just the perfect match for her.
I love it when, especially in historical romance, the heroine is someone who wants to break the rules, who isn't afraid of doing somethig she shouldn't do because of what society thinks is right... so Callie and her list were quite entertaining, I was rooting for her the whole time.

Hey Karen... I wish I could say I've been drinking wine and reading one amazing book after another… sadly, that’s not the case.
I’m an elementary (maybe….I’m not sure what the conversion for school grades is) math teacher and yesterday was the First Stage of the Math Olympiad, the past two weeks have been insane!, I’ve got this so very, VERY bright kid, he’s going places, let me tell you, he’s cute as a button and his parents are just amazing, so supportive.
I had classes all morning and then tutoring for this kid, then a million papers and exams to grade… I’ll be honest, little to none reading has been done, at least not for pleasure… but God!, I am so excited!, everybody cross your fingers!, in a couple of weeks we’ll get the results for the Olympiad and another Math contest he went to last month.
I hope Christian catches the eye of a great high school recruiter, he needs to go somewhere with a great Math program, where he can be nurtured and challenged and even pushed a little to grow… Gosh, he’s so freaking talented!, I’ve learned so much from him, he left me speechless quite a few times.

O.o <----- me

sorry, rant over...I'm just so proud of him!

~KarenH~ | 11383 comments Wow Lili, that really sounds exhausting, but so exciting! It's amazing to watch kids that are truly excited to learn, and when they have that kind of special talent, it's incredible. You're so lucky to be involved with him!

I'm glad you were able to at least find enough time to read your book for last week, I'm managing to stay current, but just barely. Life's been a little crazy around here too, but I have had some reading time. My biggest problem has been too many challenges going on at once - I'm definitely overextended and will be glad when some of them are done! This week's an easy one for me though, I found a book that works that's available in audio, and quite short...I should finish tomorrow, I hope. First time I've been ahead of schedule through the entire challenge, I think!

~KarenH~ | 11383 comments Week 8 - Rhythm and Bluegrass (Bluegrass, #2) by Molly Harper Rhythm and Bluegrass 3/30/14 3 stars

I'm generally a fan of Molly Harper's books, especially the audiobooks narrated by the wonderful Amanda Ronconi, but this one fell short for me. It was ok, but I never really felt the chemistry between the main characters - they went from buddies to adversaries, which of course was due to a misunderstanding, and once that was cleared up they were suddenly in love. I loved the town, great quirky secondary characters, but the whole love story angle just seemed a little disconnected to me.

I love this series and was a little apprehensive to read this because Tristan was a jerk in the beginning of the series, but I am so glad I did. After reading his story I feel like I understand him and he has moved into the rank of one of my favorite book boyfriends (watch out Senia, LOL). Thanks for giving us Tristan and Senia's story, it was the perfect mix of tears, laughter and heat! Can not wait for more!
