Courtney (canadiangirlcb) | 748 comments So I found this one book that was re-printed with a different title. There are two records, one with multiple copies of the book titled Hitler's Angel, one with a single edition titled Hitler's secret.

How is this usually handled?
Should they be combined, since the new title should (I think) come up in a seach anyway? Or does it actually need it's own record?

The single edition does have a note with the original title mentioned.

Links to the editions are here:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... -- hitler's secret (single edition).

Courtney (canadiangirlcb) | 748 comments Thanks so much!

Would you mind answering a question?

What's the policy on cleaning up the summary of a books?

I've seen a couple that didn't come in correctly and have stuff &like& #this* all through the summary. It's really annoying.

And I'm looking at one right now that has to be at least twice as long as it should be due to excessive spacing between paragraphs. It looks like the enter bar was pressed about six times between each.

I'm guessing the character issues one would be fixed, but would the second?

You can see it here:

Z-squared | 8575 comments Such descriptions are usually the result of funny bulk uploads to the GR database. I don't think there's any policy for fixing them. If it's really bad, I usually take the time to clean it up, especially when there are bad characters. You can always post such things in the librarian group, and someone will fix it.

Warren Olson (warrenolson) | 3 comments I find it a little unfortunate that an Author cant delete his own books in certain circumstances ;
I have re written and had republished under a new publisher the book CHASING THE GOLDEN DRAGON, - and yet am unable to delete Chasing the dragon published by Monsoon books who have no rights to this work -

Courtney (canadiangirlcb) | 748 comments This should probably be a separate thread. A mod will probably come and scold soon. Separate topics are usually put in separate threads.

Can you maybe be more specific about the issue?

Re-written and re-published. If a book is an old, en-edited edition it will still be on goodreads for people who read that edition. They wouldn't take that off. They'd probably put combine the records, though.

Am I understanding correctly, though, that a publisher has illegally pirated a copy of your work?

That kind of record I can see Goodreads taking down, especially if you've taken legal action against the company over the matter.
