Susan (susankroupa) | 17 comments Hi. I just added the paper edition of my book Dog-Nabbed to GR. Should I add the Kindle edition as well or does that confuse things? I'm not sure how GR handles multiple editions.

Thanks!

Ren | 688 comments Yes, please add the kindle edition as well, then you can post here and the different editions can be combined (aka linked together).

Susan (susankroupa) | 17 comments Thanks! I'll do that. Should I add other ebook editions, such as Nook and Kobo, as well? (How much is too much?? :) )

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments Yes - for the Nook version the BNID starting 249 goes in the ISBN13 field.

The Kobo 123 number goes in the ISBN13 field also

Add all editions with unique identifiers; then either combine the editions yourself or ask a librarian to do for you. Or just post all the edition information and librarians will do all of it—however you prefer.

(if the nook and kobo version share the same identifier isbn13 978# only add one ebook edition with the 978# in the isbn13 field. Add two editions if the nook has a unique bnid identifier starting with 294# that is one edition with bnid in the goodreads isbn13 field and if the kobo edition has an id starting with 123# that's another edition with kobo id being put in the goodreads isbn13 field. In either case, format=ebook.)

How much is too much? I wouldn't worry; most readers on goodreads are used to all the editions. Some happily just shelve whatever edition shows up when searching title or author and others are extremely picky to shelve the exact edition they purchased or shelve (for the picky ones, if the editions aren't created they are likely to add themselves, not necessarily as correctly as an author or librarian would).

Susan (susankroupa) | 17 comments Thanks!! I appreciate the help here!

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments Could a librarian go ahead and add Dog-Nabbed as #3 in the "Doodlebugged Mysteries" series?

Thanks.

Susan (susankroupa) | 17 comments Ah, thanks!

Susan (susankroupa) | 17 comments I just added the Kobo, Kindle, and Nook editions of Out-Sniffed Out-Sniffed and wondered if you could merge all the files.

Thanks!
